 TEAM LAGOS EMERGES TOP AT 23RD NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL SOUTH WEST ELIMINATION Lagos State athletes proved their dominance in the South West by edging out regional competitors and emerging top in the five team events contested at the elimination series qualifier for the 23rd National Sports Festival later this year in Enugu. The elimination series featured team events in volleyball, basketball, football, beach volleyball, and cricket in male and female categories. While the team clinched only the female football ticket by topping their group, they showed dominance in three other sports by winning both the male and female tickets. Team Lagos took first position in the volleyball male and female categories. The male team defeated their counterparts from Ondo in the finals by 25-18, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-20, while the female team defeated Team Oyo by 25-18, 22-25, 28-26, 16-25, and 15-8.  Kajuru LG Chairman Enrols 100 Vulnerable Residents In Kaduna Health Insurance Scheme


The Executive Chairman of Kajuru Local Government Council, Hon. Dauda Madaki, has announced the enrollment of 100 vulnerable residents of the local government into the Kaduna State Contributory Health Scheme (KADCHMA) as the first batch of beneficiaries.


Madaki made the announcement during a courtesy visit to the Director-General of the Kaduna State Contributory Health Management Authority (KADCHMA), Malam Abubakar Hassan, on Thursday.


The beneficiaries, drawn from the elderly, less privileged, and other vulnerable groups in Kajuru Local Government Area, are expected to benefit from essential healthcare services under the state health insurance scheme.


During the meeting, both parties discussed modalities for the seamless enrollment of beneficiaries and the effective implementation of the programme to ensure transparency, efficiency, and improved access to healthcare.


Speaking during the visit, Madaki said the initiative aligns with the SUSTAIN Agenda of Kaduna State Governor, Sen. Uba Sani, particularly the administration's commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery, expanding social protection, and ensuring that residents have access to quality healthcare regardless of their financial status.


He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to supporting the Kaduna State Government's efforts toward achieving universal health coverage in Kajuru Local Government Area.


In his remarks, the Director-General of KADCHMA, Malam Abubakar Hassan, commended the Kajuru council chairman for the initiative, describing it as a people-oriented intervention that reflects compassionate leadership.


Hassan assured the council chairman of the Authority's commitment to facilitating the enrollment process and sustaining collaboration aimed at improving healthcare access and the well-being of residents in Kajuru Local Government Area.
