Princess Kate returns to Royal Box for Wimbledon ladies' singles final


Kate Middleton attended the Wimbledon ladies' singles final on Saturday, July 11, continuing her long-standing tradition of watching one of the tournament's biggest matches.


The Princess of Wales arrived at Centre Court with her mother, Carole Middleton, and waved to spectators before taking her seat in the Royal Box. She wore a red belted dress by Roland Mouret for the occasion.


As patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Kate has been a regular presence at Wimbledon since taking on the role in 2016. She has attended the tournament almost every year since marrying Prince William in 2011 and regularly presents the trophies at the men's and women's finals.


Also attending Saturday's match were Kate's younger brother, James Middleton, and his wife, Alizée Thevenet, who shared a photo of their coordinated outfits on social media.


This year's appearance follows Kate's return to attending more of the tournament after limiting her visits during her cancer treatment. In 2024 and 2025, she only attended finals weekend while focusing on her health. After announcing in January 2025 that she was in remission, she gradually resumed a fuller schedule of public engagements.


Kate made her first Wimbledon appearance of this year's tournament on July 2, when she watched the fourth day of play and met tennis fans waiting outside the grounds.


Tennis remains one of the Princess of Wales' favourite sports. She and Prince William have tennis courts at both their Windsor home and Anmer Hall in Norfolk, and she has often attended Wimbledon with members of her family.


Last year, Kate watched the men's singles final alongside Prince William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte as Jannik Sinner defeated Carlos Alcaraz.
