Kristin Cavallari was furious after being forced to give half her company's value to Jay Cutler in messy divorce: 'I didn't get anything'

Kristin Cavallari recently opened up about her split from Jay Cutler, revealing that she was furious at having to hand over half the value of her lifestyle brand, Uncommon James, during their divorce.

Speaking on the Aspire podcast, she explained that while she didn’t receive any financial support from her ex, she had to pay him in cash, property, and other assets.

Despite her anger at the time, Cavallari said the success of her company ultimately gave her the confidence to walk away from the nine‑year marriage.

Looking back, Cavallari noted that if she hadn’t built Uncommon James, she could have relied on Cutler’s wealth instead. But she now sees the settlement as a blessing, saying the challenge pushed her to fight harder and emerge stronger.

She emphasized that those difficult moments became fuel for her resilience, helping her grow both personally and professionally. Her reflections highlight how independence and self‑made success shaped her decision to leave and her ability to move forward.

The former couple, who married in 2013 and share three children, finalized their divorce in 2022 after Cavallari filed citing irreconcilable differences.

She has since spoken candidly about the heartbreak of ending the marriage, admitting she tried everything to make it work but couldn’t. Rumors that Cutler funded her brand have been denied by Cavallari, who insists she built it on her own.

Cutler, however, has described the company as a marital asset and boasted that Cavallari “didn’t get a penny” in the settlement a point Cavallari reframes as proof of her independence.
