Terrifying new dashcam footage shows moment doomed NBC helicopter falls out of the sky The terrifying moment an NBC helicopter fell out of the sky and plunged into the ground near where an SUV had slammed into a Metro bus was caught on dashcam. The video, obtained by KTLA, shows the helicopter descending, caught from afar on the vehicle camera of Yera Valencia. She said: “I downloaded the video of my dashcam. It’s a little dot on the video. It’s a crisp video and it just goes down.” She added: “God, it’s so close, it could have happened to anyone. My parents walk down the street.” The two back-to-back Tuesday night crashes resulted in five deaths — two involving the bus and SUV, and three as a result of the chopper going down, killing reporter Eliana Moreno, pilot George Marciniw and pedestrian Edy Gutierrez Mejia.

 OBITUARY - ARCHBISHOP OF BENIN-CITY PASSES ON


With faith in the resurrection and complete trust in the mercy of Almighty God, we announce the passing of Most Rev. Augustine Obiora Akubeze, Metropolitan Archbishop Emeritus of Benin City, who was called to eternal rest on Thursday, 9 July 2026, at the age of 69.


Archbishop Akubeze was a devoted shepherd, an outstanding teacher of the faith, and a steadfast defender of the Gospel. Throughout his episcopal ministry, he served the Church with wisdom, humility, and unwavering dedication, guiding countless faithful with pastoral charity and inspiring hope through his gentle leadership.


As a former President of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), he provided courageous leadership during significant moments in the life of the Church in Nigeria. His commitment to justice, truth, evangelization, priestly formation, and national renewal earned him the respect of the faithful, his brother bishops, and people of goodwill.


We commend his noble soul to the loving embrace of the Risen Lord, we give thanks to God for the gift of his life, his faithful ministry and the enduring legacy he leaves behind.


May the angels lead him into paradise.

May perpetual light shine upon him.

May his gentle soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. #RIP
