SENATE UNANIMOUSLY PASSES RESOLUTION URGING NO PARDON OR CLEMENCY FOR CONVICTED SEX TRAFFICKER GHISLAINE MAXWELL . (PHOTO).

Senate unanimously passes resolution urging no pardon or clemency for convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell

The Senate has unanimously approved a resolution stating that Ghislaine Maxwell, the convicted sex trafficker who helped facilitate Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse of underage girls, should not receive a presidential pardon or any form of executive clemency.

The measure received support from both parties, with Republican senators not objecting to the resolution, which calls on the president to reject any pardon, sentence reduction, or other clemency for Maxwell. The resolution also expressed support for victims of sexual exploitation and trafficking while reaffirming a commitment to accountability and protecting children.

The resolution is symbolic and does not carry legal authority. The Senate has previously approved similar measures, including one opposing potential clemency for former FTX executive Sam Bankman-Fried.

President Donald Trump has not ruled out the possibility of pardoning Maxwell but has not indicated that he intends to do so. When asked about a potential pardon after the Supreme Court declined to hear Maxwell’s appeal, Trump said he would review the matter and consult with the Justice Department.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche previously told senators that he would not recommend a pardon for Maxwell. Blanche’s past interview with Maxwell as part of the Justice Department’s investigation into Epstein has contributed to speculation about whether cooperation could play a role in any future clemency discussions.
