Suri, the daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, has legally changed her surname from Cruise to Noelle, according to voter registration records obtained by PEOPLE.
The 20-year-old, who attends Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, registered to vote in Allegheny County during her freshman year in October 2024. Her voter registration lists her name as Suri Noelle. Noelle is Katie Holmes' middle name.
The legal change follows an earlier public indication that Suri had begun using the name. During her high school graduation in June 2024, she was identified as Suri Noelle.
Cruise and Holmes welcomed Suri in April 2006, married later that year and divorced in 2012.
After Suri began college, Holmes spoke about her daughter's next chapter during an interview with Town & Country in August 2024.
"I'm proud of my daughter. Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I'm really proud of her and I'm happy," Holmes said, adding that she viewed the period as an exciting time of new beginnings and self-discovery.
In December 2024, Holmes also addressed reports about Suri's finances, publicly disputing claims that her daughter had gained access to a trust fund from Cruise after turning 18.
Responding to the report on Instagram, Holmes wrote, "Completely false," before adding, "Daily Mail you can stop making stuff up."
"Enough," she added in the caption.
