UNIZIK Begins 2026/2027 Post-UTME, Direct Entry Screening, Warns Against Unauthorised Payments

Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, has commenced the 2026/2027 Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) and Direct Entry screening exercise for prospective candidates seeking admission into the institution.
The announcement was contained in a notice signed by the Registrar, Dr. Chinenye Gloria Okeke, and published on the University's official Facebook page on July 27. The notice outlined the eligibility criteria, registration procedures, and other requirements for the screening exercise.
According to the University, candidates who selected UNIZIK or any of its affiliate institutions as their first-choice institution in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and obtained a minimum score of 160 are eligible to participate in the screening exercise.
The notice further stated that candidates who did not initially choose UNIZIK as their first-choice institution but scored at least 160 in the UTME may also apply after effecting a change of institution through JAMB-accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centres.
For Direct Entry admission, applicants are required to possess relevant Ordinary National Diploma (OND), Higher National Diploma (HND), First Degree, or Advanced Level (A'Level) qualifications. They are also expected to ensure that their academic transcripts are forwarded to the University as part of the admission process.
The university further directed all applicants to upload their O'Level results, as well as A'Level results for Direct Entry candidates, on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) before admission processing.
Candidates were instructed to complete their registration through the university's admission portal using their JAMB registration numbers and pay a non-refundable screening fee of N2,000.
The institution also advised applicants to regularly monitor their registered phone numbers, email addresses, and the official UNIZIK website for updates and important information throughout the admission process.
Reiterating its commitment to a transparent admission process, the university emphasised that admission is strictly merit-based and not for sale. It therefore cautioned candidates against making payments to unauthorised individuals or groups and advised that all enquiries should be directed to the official email addresses: registrar@unizik.edu.ng and admission@unizik.edu.ng.
