 Former Kennedy Center employees allege leadership delayed roof repairs before citing safety issues in closure decision Former Kennedy Center employees allege that the venue’s leadership knew about serious structural problems well before citing newly discovered hazards as the reason for its abrupt closure this month. The claims were outlined in a letter to Congress from a lawyer representing anonymous whistleblowers. The letter accuses the center’s executive director and chief operating officer, Matt Floca, of failing to prioritize roof repairs and stopping a funded repair plan in April. Floca disputes the allegations, saying recent inspections revealed that water damage had spread farther into the building than officials previously knew. In a September court declaration, Floca cited “acute risks to public safety” following an inspection that found deterioration in a roof terrace canopy and a partial ceiling collapse.  Commandant General NSCDC Audi In Osogbo Assesses Security Preparedness Ahead  Of Saturday's Osun Governorship Election


The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has paid an official operational visit to Osun State to assess security preparedness and ensure seamless coordination ahead of the forthcoming election.


In a statement signed by the NSCDC's Public Relations Officer, Assistant Commandant of Corps, Babawale Afolabi, indicated that during the visit, the CG met with the Chief Security Officer of the state, the Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke


He reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to ensuring a peaceful, free, fair, and credible election, while working tirelessly to protect critical national assets and infrastructure, through close collaboration with sister security agencies.


Governor Ademola Adeleke commended the CG for making the operational trip in person and lauded the NSCDC for its steadfast protection of critical national assets and infrastructure across the state.


The CG also visited the INEC State Headquarters where he met with the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Babalola, assuring the Commission of full operational support and issued a stern warning to potential vandals.


At the NSCDC Osun State Command headquarters, the CG reminded officers and personnel of the Corps' role in national security, warning them against being trigger-happy and stressing strict compliance with the rules of engagement.
