 Former Kennedy Center employees allege leadership delayed roof repairs before citing safety issues in closure decision Former Kennedy Center employees allege that the venue’s leadership knew about serious structural problems well before citing newly discovered hazards as the reason for its abrupt closure this month. The claims were outlined in a letter to Congress from a lawyer representing anonymous whistleblowers. The letter accuses the center’s executive director and chief operating officer, Matt Floca, of failing to prioritize roof repairs and stopping a funded repair plan in April. Floca disputes the allegations, saying recent inspections revealed that water damage had spread farther into the building than officials previously knew. In a September court declaration, Floca cited “acute risks to public safety” following an inspection that found deterioration in a roof terrace canopy and a partial ceiling collapse.  FRSC DEPLOYS 2,500 PERSONNEL FOR OSUN GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION


The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has deployed 2,500 personnel and 50 operational vehicles, including seven (7) heavy-duty tow trucks and six (6) ambulances, for the effective management of road traffic and emergency response during the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election scheduled for Saturday, 15 August 2026.


In a statement by the Corps' Public Education Officer, Osondu Ohaeri, the deployment covers the three Senatorial Districts and all operational areas of the State


It further adds that the initiative is designed to ensure seamless traffic management, prompt emergency response, clearance of road obstructions and strict compliance with the Restriction or No-Movement Order during the election period.


The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, mni stated that the FRSC deployment reflects the Corps' commitment to supporting a peaceful, safe and credible electoral process within its statutory mandate of road safety and traffic management, stating that the Corps will deploy its personnel with strict professionalism, neutrality, discipline and respect for human rights, while working in close synergy with the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) and other relevant agencies.
