 Two Texas officers braved a mass of marauding bees to rescue a disabled man being attacked by the swarm. This absolutely courageous act of self sacrifice played out in Lyford, Texas on July 13th. On that day, the Lyford Chief of Police, Marcos Garcia, would lead from the front with the help of Officer Raymundo Sanchez to go above and beyond for a citizen in peril. The two heroes of the day were responding after receiving a report of an ongoing attack by a swarm of bees. To add to the drama of the day, the citizen under attack suffers from a physical disability that prevented him from executing his own escape. When the two officers arrived, they quickly located the victim lying on the ground while suffering an unrelenting attack by the bees. The victim had draped a towel over his chest in an attempt to mitigate some damage, but it appeared to be doing very little for the unfortunate man. Chief Garcia wasted no time as he leaped from his cruiser and charged head first into the fray....

 Grammy-winning producer William Orbit, who worked with Madonna, Britney Spears and U2, dies at 69

William Orbit, the Grammy-winning producer behind some of the biggest hits from artists including Madonna, Britney Spears and U2, has died at the age of 69.

Orbit’s family announced that he died at home on July 23, 2026, saying he would be deeply missed by loved ones and the many people whose lives he influenced through his music, friendship and kindness. A cause of death was not disclosed, and his family requested privacy.

Orbit began his music career in the early 1980s as a member of the electronic trio Torch Song before transitioning into production. He became widely recognized for his innovative work with major artists and helped shape the sound of late-1990s and early-2000s pop music.

One of his most notable collaborations was with Madonna on her 1998 album “Ray of Light,” which earned a Grammy Award for best pop album, while the album’s title track won best dance recording. Orbit also produced Madonna’s hit “Beautiful Stranger” from the “Austin Powers” soundtrack, along with tracks from her albums “Music” and “MDNA.”

Throughout his career, Orbit worked with a wide range of artists, including Blur, U2, No Doubt, Pink, All Saints, Katie Melua, Robbie Williams, Chris Brown and Melanie C of the Spice Girls.

His work as a producer helped define the sound of numerous chart-topping recordings, leaving a lasting impact on the music industry.
