 Netflix announces new Sesame Street movie as long-running children’s show continues “Sesame Street” is heading to the big screen with a new movie in development at Netflix. The streaming service announced Thursday that it is developing the film in partnership with Rideback and Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit organization behind the long-running children’s series. The announcement comes as Netflix renews its agreement with Sesame Workshop for Season 62 of “Sesame Street.” Additional episodes from Season 57 are scheduled to arrive on Netflix in late November. The movie is part of Netflix’s broader effort to expand its preschool programming with new series, films and games featuring familiar characters and educational content. “Sesame Street” first premiered on Nov. 10, 1969, and features Jim Henson’s Muppets.  Nairobi submits bid to host 2029 World Championships

Nairobi has formally submitted its bid to host the 2029 World Athletics Championships, ‌seeking to become the first African city to stage the sport's flagship event.


The Kenyan capital faces competition from London, ⁠Rome and Munich for hosting rights, Reuters reported.


Kenya's government has committed full backing for the bid, including the infrastructure, security and organisational support required to stage the championships.


Kenya has previously hosted the 2007 ‌World ⁠Cross Country Championships in Mombasa, the World Under-18 Championships in Nairobi in 2017 and the World Under-20 ⁠Championships in the capital in 2021.


Nairobi also staged the African Athletics Championships ⁠in 2010.


World Athletics is expected to announce the host ⁠city for the 2029 championships in September.
