 A 15-year-old Georgia girl endured a nightmare scenario when a man smashed through a shared wall and viciously attacked her. The unbelievably scary attack was carried out at 10 p.m. on August 4th. On that evening, a 15-year-old was watching two young children inside of an apartment on the 1000 block of Summit Street in Gainesville. As the 15-year-old passed time while watching a 5-year-old and 7-year-old, she had no idea that danger lurked next door. The calm evening erupted into chaos as 29-year-old Obed Reyes busted out the drywall on a shared wall and inside of a closet. The victim was taken completely by surprise as Obed charged towards her, seemingly appearing from nowhere. Obed was on her before she could react, grabbing her by the hair and punching the young girl. During the initial onslaught, the girl was able to fight back enough to make space and flee.  She sprinted into the breezeway with Obed right behind. NIGERIA COMMISERATES WITH COLOMBIA OVER DEVASTATING EARTHQUAKE 


The Government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria express profound sorrow and deepest sympathy to the Government and people of the Republic of Colombia following the devastating magnitude 7.4 earthquake that struck western Colombia on 10 August 2026.


This powerful tremor, the strongest recorded in Colombia this century, is reported to have caused significant losses of life, left many injured, and resulted in extensive damage to homes, hospitals, schools, and critical infrastructure across several regions, including Chocó, Valle del Cauca, Risaralda, and surrounding areas.


The Federal Government of Nigeria extends its heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost loved ones and wishes a speedy and full recovery of the injured. Nigeria stand in full solidarity with the people of Colombia during this period of national mourning and recovery.


Nigeria has full confidence in the resilience, unity, and determination of the Colombian people and the leadership of President Abelardo de la Espriella as they undertake search-and-rescue operations and begin the process of rebuilding.


May the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace.
