Nri women at home and abroad have held their 2026 August General Meeting, reaffirming their commitment to unity, peace and the development of the community.

The meeting, held at Eke Nri Town Hall on Aug. 14, brought together women from various kindreds and families to deliberate on issues concerning their welfare and the development of the community.

The gathering was non-denominational, with women from Catholic, Anglican, Sabbath and Pentecostal denominations participating.

Speaking at the meeting, the Women Leader, Mrs Uju Anowali, said the annual gathering provided an opportunity for the women to come together, deliberate on issues affecting their families and community, and strengthen their bonds.

Anowali urged the women to remain united and peaceful, stressing that their collective efforts were vital to the progress and development of Nri.

She called on members to support one another and contribute positively to initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of women, families and the wider community.

The meeting also featured discussions on matters of common interest and presentations by various women’s groups on their activities and contributions to the community.

The participants used the occasion to interact, exchange ideas and renew their commitment to promoting peace, cooperation and unity among Nri women.

The meeting ended with renewed calls for greater collaboration among the women, irrespective of religious denomination or place of residence, toward advancing the interests and development of Nri community.
