 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

Peter Cullen, voice of Optimus Prime and Eeyore, dies at 85

Peter Cullen, the voice actor who brought the heroic Optimus Prime from “Transformers” and the melancholy Eeyore from “Winnie the Pooh” to life, has died at 85.

Cullen died Wednesday, Aug. 26, at his home in Los Angeles. His family said he died peacefully surrounded by loved ones and remembered him for his compassion, integrity, and loyalty.

Cullen first voiced Optimus Prime in the 1986 animated film “The Transformers: The Movie.” He went on to reprise the iconic character in several animated television series and seven live-action “Transformers” films released between 2007 and 2023.

His other signature role was Eeyore, whom he first voiced in the 1988 television series “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.” The series ran for four seasons, and Cullen continued portraying the gloomy donkey in more than a dozen films and television productions.

Cullen remained active in voice acting late into his career. His most recent role was as Thaedus in the Prime Video superhero series “Invincible.”
