 Two Texas officers braved a mass of marauding bees to rescue a disabled man being attacked by the swarm. This absolutely courageous act of self sacrifice played out in Lyford, Texas on July 13th. On that day, the Lyford Chief of Police, Marcos Garcia, would lead from the front with the help of Officer Raymundo Sanchez to go above and beyond for a citizen in peril. The two heroes of the day were responding after receiving a report of an ongoing attack by a swarm of bees. To add to the drama of the day, the citizen under attack suffers from a physical disability that prevented him from executing his own escape. When the two officers arrived, they quickly located the victim lying on the ground while suffering an unrelenting attack by the bees. The victim had draped a towel over his chest in an attempt to mitigate some damage, but it appeared to be doing very little for the unfortunate man. Chief Garcia wasted no time as he leaped from his cruiser and charged head first into the fray....

 Trump supporter says he will not vote for him again after fiancée is detained by ICE at Houston airport


A Texas businessman who supported Donald Trump in the last election says he no longer plans to vote for the president after his fiancée was detained by U.S. immigration authorities.


John Gannon, 75, told CBS News that eight Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers detained his fiancée, Yasmin Suarez Reyes, 45, at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston on July 24.


Gannon said the couple were preparing to fly to Las Vegas when plainclothes officers took Suarez Reyes away. She was born in Venezuela and is a Spanish citizen.


Gannon, who owns businesses in the U.S. and Mexico, said he was surprised by the detention and described himself as a law-abiding taxpayer who had previously supported Trump.


“I voted for Trump,” he told CBS News, but said the experience had changed his view of the administration. He said he would not vote for Trump again.


The Department of Homeland Security confirmed Suarez Reyes’ arrest to PEOPLE, saying she had legally entered the U.S. in October 2023 but overstayed after her admission expired in January 2024.


The department said pending applications do not provide legal status and that her immigration claims would be considered by a Justice Department immigration judge with due process.


Suarez Reyes’ immigration attorney had not responded to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
