 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

UK COURT CONFIRMS POCO LEE’S ASSAULT CASE. (PHOTO).


 UK court confirms Poco Lee’s assault case


The Snaresbrook Crown Court in the United Kingdom confirmed that Nigerian dancer, Iweh Pascal Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, will appear before the court over an assault case.


The London-based court confirmed the case in a correspondence sent out on Tuesday, August 25. 


The court’s Admin Team Lead, James Baker, confirmed to Punch that the case is listed for plea and trial preparation on September 15, 2026but declined to provide the exact time or courtroom ahead of the hearing.


He wrote “OFFICIAL. Good afternoon. I can confirm that this case is currently listed at Snaresbrook Crown Court for plea and trial preparation on the 15th September 2026.


Criminal Court hearings are open to the public. Precise times and courtroom information will not be available until the day before the hearing. Many thanks.”


Recall that on Monday, the founder of the Community of Nigerians in the United Kingdom, Benjamin Kuti, also known as Oluomo of Derby, said Poco Lee was in a UK prison and was expected to appear before the Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15, 2026.


Kuti said he was aware of the development because he regularly attends court proceedings and supports Nigerians involved in legal matters in the UK.
