The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) says approximately 200,000 cattle have been lost to rustling in Kaduna State in 2026.
The association made this known during a press conference held in Kaduna, where it expressed concern over the significant livestock losses caused by criminal activities across affected communities.
MACBAN’s Kaduna State Director of Media and Publicity, Ibrahim Bayero, also disclosed that some members of the association had lost their lives in the state during the year.
While commending the Kaduna State Government for its efforts to tackle insecurity, MACBAN urged security agencies to intensify operations against criminal groups and improve the protection of law-abiding residents across the state.
The association further called on the state government to strengthen local security structures and enhance intelligence gathering through closer collaboration among security agencies, traditional rulers, community leaders and other relevant stakeholders.
According to MACBAN, stronger cooperation and timely exchange of information would help prevent criminal activities, safeguard lives and livelihoods, and support sustainable development in Kaduna State and Nigeria.
