 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

 ANAMBRA SECURITY: CP NNANNA RECEIVES COMMISSIONERS FOR INFORMATION AND CULTURE, EMPHASISES UNDERSTANDING OF LOCAL CULTURE AS KEY TO EFFECTIVE POLICING


The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, psc, mnips, has underscored the importance of understanding and respecting the culture, traditions, and values of the people as an essential component of effective and people-centred policing.


CP Nnanna made the remark today, 3rd September 2026, when he received the Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Value Reorientation, Dr Law Mefor, and the Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Mr Udoji Amedu, during a courtesy visit to the Command Headquarters, Awka.


The Commissioner of Police observed that effective policing goes beyond the enforcement of laws, noting that the ability of the Police to effectively serve and protect the people is strengthened by a proper understanding of their cultural heritage, values, traditions, and peculiarities.


He further stressed the importance of sustained collaboration between the Police, relevant Ministries, traditional institutions, community leaders, and other critical stakeholders in building public confidence, strengthening community engagement, and promoting sustainable peace and security across the State.


CP Nnanna reiterated the Command’s commitment to an open-door policing policy and strategic partnerships that will further deepen trust and cooperation between the Police and the people of Anambra State.


The visiting Commissioners commended the Anambra State Police Command for its sustained efforts towards enhancing security and maintaining public safety. They also pledged continued collaboration with the Police in promoting peace, security, positive value reorientation, and the preservation of the rich cultural heritage of the people of Anambra State.
