 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

 ASHIA Inspects Accredited Hospitals in Idemili North, Assures Enrollees of Quality Care

‎The Executive Secretary of the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA), Dr. Augustine Ezeka, has visited selected ASHIA-accredited healthcare facilities in Idemili North Local Government Area as part of efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery across the state.

‎Dr. Ezeka undertook the visit on Sept. 11 to Iyi-enu Mission Hospital, Ogidi, and Immaculate Heart Specialist Hospital, Nkpor, where he engaged with hospital management and healthcare providers.

‎The visit formed part of the Agency’s ongoing engagement with accredited healthcare facilities to assess service delivery, identify challenges and strengthen collaboration with providers.

‎The ASHIA executive secretary also used the opportunity to assess the level of care available to enrollees and ensure that beneficiaries continue to receive accessible, affordable and quality healthcare services.

‎At Iyi-enu Mission Hospital, the Chief Medical Director was represented by the Director of Administration, Rev. Emmanuel Omonogun, who received the ASHIA team on behalf of the hospital management. While at Immaculate Heart Specialist Hospital, the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Chinonye Ubajaka, received Dr. Ezeka and members of the ASHIA team.

‎The engagements provided an avenue for discussions on healthcare service delivery, areas requiring improvement and ways of enhancing the experience of ASHIA enrollees. The Agency reiterated its commitment to working closely with accredited healthcare providers to address challenges and promote efficient healthcare services for beneficiaries.

‎Dr. Ezeka’s visit underscores ASHIA’s continued efforts to improve the quality of healthcare delivery and advance Universal Health Coverage for Ndi Anambra.
