Dolly Parton’s Nephew Bryan Seaver Reacts to Being Fired as Head of Security: ‘I Refuse to Be Intimidated’
Dolly Parton’s nephew Bryan Seaver is speaking out after being fired from his longtime position as head of security for the late country legend’s business interests, declaring that he will not be silenced amid an escalating legal battle.
Seaver, the son of Parton’s sister Cassie, had spent more than two decades overseeing his aunt’s security before his company, Squadron Augmented Protection Services, was terminated by She’s Alive LLC, the entity responsible for managing and protecting Parton’s professional interests.
Now, Seaver is pushing back.
“I refuse to be intimidated,” Seaver said in a statement addressing the growing dispute.
He described his removal as the result of “unexpected and, so far, unexplained actions” and maintained that he has not received an adequate explanation for why his decades-long security role came to an end.
The termination comes amid an increasingly bitter legal fight between Seaver and those overseeing Parton’s business affairs following her death.
She’s Alive LLC has filed a civil lawsuit accusing Seaver of making threatening and intimidating statements toward employees, attorneys and business associates connected to Parton’s organization.
According to allegations contained in the lawsuit, Seaver referenced his background in security and military contracting during heated communications with people associated with the estate.
Among the statements cited in court documents, Seaver allegedly referred to himself as “a killer” and warned that people should be concerned about what he might do.
The estate has also accused Seaver of threatening to damage Parton’s business relationships and “destroy the brand.”
Seaver strongly disputes the characterization of his comments.
He maintains that statements included in the lawsuit have been stripped of their proper context and were never intended as threats of violence.
Seaver has also suggested that his firing and the subsequent legal action are connected to concerns he raised about the management of his aunt’s affairs.
“I will continue to defend myself, my family and my aunt’s legacy,” he said.
The dispute is particularly emotional because Seaver was far more than an employee.
As Parton’s nephew, he was part of her family and remained within her trusted inner circle for decades. He was also the person Parton personally selected to announce her death to the public.
Following Parton’s passing at age 80, Seaver appeared in an emotional video explaining that his aunt had asked him years earlier to deliver the devastating news when the time came.
That history makes the current legal battle a dramatic reversal.
A Tennessee judge has granted a temporary restraining order against Seaver and his security company. The order requires him to remain at least 1,000 feet away from certain individuals connected to She’s Alive LLC and restricts certain communications and alleged interference with the organization’s business relationships.
Seaver is challenging the accusations against him and insists he will continue fighting to clear his name.
The allegations contained in the lawsuit remain civil claims and have not been established as fact at trial.
What was once a decades-long relationship built around protecting Dolly Parton has now turned into a deeply personal fight over employment, alleged threats and the future of the superstar’s legacy.
And Seaver is making it clear that he has no intention of quietly walking away.
