KSC Dedicates 136-Room Hostel at University on the Niger

The Knights of St. Christopher (KSC), Diocese on the Niger, have strengthened student accommodation at the University on the Niger (UniNiger), Umunya, Anambra State, with the construction of a 136-room hostel.
The facility, named St. Christopher Hostel, was dedicated on Sept. 11 by the Chancellor of the University and Bishop on the Niger, The Rt. Rev. Dr. Owen Chiedozie Nwokolo, during a pastoral visit to the institution.
In his homily, Bishop Nwokolo thanked God for the growth and development of the university since its establishment, describing the new facility as a significant contribution to the institution’s expanding infrastructure.
He commended the KSC, Diocese on the Niger, for its commitment and sacrifice towards the project and prayed for God’s blessings upon the organisation and all those who contributed to its completion.
As part of the ceremony, the bishop formally named the facility St. Christopher Hostel in recognition of the organisation that constructed it.
The vice chancellor of the University on the Niger, The Very Rev. Prof. Chinedu Nebo, CON, expressed gratitude for the progress recorded by the institution, noting what he described as God’s visible hand in its steady growth and expansion.
Prof. Nebo appreciated individuals and organisations supporting the university’s development, expressing confidence that the institution would continue to receive the support needed to advance its mission.
In his remarks, the President of KSC, Diocese on the Niger, Sir Ikechukwu Ejelue, appreciated the chancellor, vice chancellor, university management, Knights and Ladies of St. Christopher and other supporters for their contributions to the project.
Ejelue described the completion of the hostel as a significant milestone for the organisation and the university, expressing hope that the efforts of those involved would be remembered by future generations.
The ceremony was attended by the University Registrar, Ven. Dr. Chinedu Nnatuanya; Bursar, Mrs. Ngozi Amamchukwu; Dean of Student Affairs, Rev. Canon Maxwell Njoku; members of staff and students, as well as other guests and dignitaries.
The 136-room St. Christopher Hostel is expected to expand accommodation options for students and further support the University on the Niger’s continuing infrastructural development.
The dedication ended with thanksgiving and celebration as the university community and members of the KSC gave thanks for the successful completion of the project.
