 OPHK TROOPS FOIL TERRORIST MOVEMENT IN NIGHT AMBUSH, ARREST 4 AS 11 TERRORISTS SURRENDER Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have recorded further operational successes with the arrest of 4 suspected Boko Haram terrorists following a night ambush in Yobe State, alongside the surrender of 11 terrorists and arrest of 9 suspected drug dealers between 15 and 22 September 2026. Troops also recovered a vehicle, ammunition and other logistics items as sustained operations continue to degrade terrorist capabilities and deny them freedom of action across the Joint Operations Area. In the night operation, troops of 27 Task Force Brigade, in conjunction with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), laid an ambush east of Azare Village in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State at about 11:00 pm on 21 September 2026.  Lagos police arrest man caught on camera flagging a toddler for being unable to read


A Nigerian man caught on camera flagging a toddler for not being able to read has been arrested.


A horrific video showing the man repeatedly flagging the toddler across the head and body with what appeared to be a charger cable. The video triggered widespread outrage and calls for the arrest and prosecution of the man.


Confirming his arrest, the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual V!olence Agency, in a statement released, said the alleged perpetrator was apprehended on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 after receiving the report and successfully established contact with the child’s mother.


The agency said the mother disclosed that the matter had already been reported at the Imota Police Station.


“Upon contacting officers at the Family Support Unit, the Agency was informed that the survivor’s mother had initially reported the matter to the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency.


Following the report, the alleged perpetrator was apprehended on Wednesday, 23rd September, 2026, and is currently in police custody, as the matter has now been escalated for further investigation.


The survivor and her mother have also been referred to the General Hospital for immediate medical attention and further assessment,” the agency stated
