 Woman accused of biting chunk out of victim’s forehead in ‘zombie bite’ attack A blood-curdling, random attack in downtown Seattle last week left a woman with injuries to her face similar to a “zombie bite,” she said. Diana Gonzalez, 36, was walking to a 7-Eleven when a crazed suspect, identified as homeless woman Kamilia Chadli, threw a food wrapper at her. When Gonzalez questioned her actions, Chadli allegedly spit on her, used a homophobic slur, and called her “the inferior race.” Chadli then allegedly began assaulting her, tossing her to the ground. Then, horrifyingly, Chadli allegedly took a bloody bite out of Gonzalez’s forehead. A nearby witness pulled the women apart and pursued Chadli after she allegedly fled the scene. Seattle police would later apprehend her, and she has been charged with felony second-degree assault. Gonzalez needed to be hospitalized and is recovering.  Nawfija Celebrates 2026 New Yam Festival, Ezeudo I Sets Stage for 2027 Mega Ofala

‎Nawfija Community in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State has celebrated its 2026 New Yam Festival, with the traditional ruler, Igwe Clifford C. Okeke (Ezeudo 1)  leading the colourful cultural ceremony held on Sept. 19.

‎The event, held at the monarch’s palace, attracted royal fathers, community leaders, political figures, women, youths, associations, friends and well-wishers, as the community combined christian thanksgiving with its cherished cultural traditions.

‎

‎The celebration also served as a prelude to the monarch’s planned Mega Ofala scheduled for January 2, which is expected to mark another significant milestone in his more than 15 years on the traditional throne.

‎

‎The activities began with a Holy Mass celebrated by St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Nawfija, with prayers and thanksgiving offered for peace, prosperity, a fruitful harvest and the continued progress of the community.

‎

‎Following the church service, guests proceeded to the palace, where Igwe Ezeudo I received the kolanut, offered prayers and blessings, and broke the kolanut to formally commence the traditional aspect of the celebration.

‎

‎The monarch thereafter performed the traditional tasting of the new yam. He offered prayers of thanksgiving before cutting the yam, dipping it into palm oil sauce and eating it amid cheers from the gathering.

‎

‎Various villages, women’s groups and community associations paid homage to the monarch, while guests joined in celebrating the harvest and strengthening communal bonds.

‎

‎Among the dignitaries at the event were royal fathers, including Igwe B.O. Emejuo of Eziagu, Igwe T.O. Ogbannaya of Owerre-Ezukalla and Eze Augustine Iroamuche Chukwudebere Nwangwu of Ajalli communities, alongside other royal guests.

‎

‎President-General of Nawfija Progressive Union, Prince Oforbuike Okoli, prayed for the monarch’s longevity and good health. He also expressed appreciation to residents and guests for their support and participation in the celebration.

‎

‎The festivities climaxed with colourful masquerade displays, entertainment, food and fellowship, as Nawfija celebrated its cultural heritage and looked forward to the January 2, 2027 Mega Ofala at the palace grounds.
