Nollywood actress Adebimpe Oyebade, popularly known as Mo Bimpe, has delivered a strong response to online critics who questioned her interaction with fellow actor Jide Awobona in a recently surfaced video.

The controversy began after a brief, one-minute video clip of Mo Bimpe and Awobona conversing went viral, sparking a wave of unsolicited commentary and scrutiny from social media users. Many critics claimed the interaction appeared overly familiar or inappropriate for a married woman.

Mo Bimpe Defends Her Friendship and Marriage

Unwilling to let the criticism slide, the actress took to social media to clarify that the exchange was nothing more than a casual, respectful conversation between long-time friends. She suggested that the backlash says more about the critics' personal experiences than her own personal life.

“The fact that so many of you found that interaction strange says more about the relationships you’re used to than it does about mine,” she wrote, addressing the negative comments directly.

A Call to Reevaluate Relationship Standards

Mo Bimpe went on to challenge the prevailing narrative around modern unions, stating that healthy, stable marriages are indeed possible. She emphasized that not all marital relationships suffer from the toxicity often projected on social media.

“Not every marriage is toxic,” the actress declared. She explained that some unions are successfully anchored on mutual trust, genuine friendship, respect, and self-confidence, rather than fear, insecurity, or the need for constant surveillance.

Defending her husband's reaction to the video, Mo Bimpe described him as a secure partner who remains unfazed by harmless social interactions. She reassured fans that her brief chat with Awobona, whom she considers a close family friend, poses zero threat to her domestic bliss.

“My husband is a secure man. A brief conversation with a family friend does not threaten our marriage or require anyone’s concern,” she added, concluding that while healthy marriages might be a foreign concept to some of her critics, they absolutely still exist.
