 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

 SITUATION REPORT ON ABDUCTION OF ISLAMIC SCHOLARS IN ZAMFARA STATE


The attention of Headquarters 8 Division, Nigerian Army/Sector 2 Joint Task Force North West Operation FANSAN YAMMA ( OPFY) has been drawn to a misleading  report circulating on various  media platforms claiming that a group of  Islamic scholars were abducted at the residence of Senator Abdul'aziz Abubakar Yari in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State.


We wish to categorically refute the claim and set the record straight that no Cleric was abducted at Senator Yari’s Residence. The narrative that the abduction took place at the Senator's residence in Talata Mafara is entirely false. 


Intelligence reports confirm that some persons were abducted while traveling from Sububu forest axis within Bakura Local Government Area en route to Talata Mafara. However, troops in close synergy with sister security agencies and local intelligence networks have intensified efforts to rescue the kidnap victims


Members of the public are s advised to disregard sensationalized narratives and  unverified information capable of creating unnecessary panic or compromising ongoing tactical operations. Citizens are further urged to remain calm, vigilant, and to continue assisting security forces with timely, actionable intelligence to aid the swift resolution of this threat.
