 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

THE PARENTS OF 5-YEAR-OLD SAYLOR HAYES WILL REMAIN IN JAIL AFTER A SOUTH CAROLINA JUDGE DENIED THEM BOND SATURDAY. (PHOTO).

 The parents of 5-year-old Saylor Hayes will remain in jail after a South Carolina judge denied them bond Saturday. 


John Hayes III, 71, and Geordyn Hayes, 31, are charged with unlawfully placing a child at risk/willfully abandoning a child after Saylor disappeared Sunday near Pawleys Island and was found dead in the Waccamaw River the following morning. 


Their attorneys called the death a tragic accident and argued the couple should be released to attend their daughter’s funeral, but the judge cited the seriousness of the charges and their criminal histories, according to The Post and Courier. 


Authorities say Saylor, a nonverbal child with autism, disappeared after being left buckled inside the family’s SUV. 


Arrest warrants allege her parents urged investigators to track a Project Lifesaver transmitter even though they knew Saylor was not wearing it and directed searchers away from the water where she was eventually found. The transmitter was later found at the family’s Virginia home.
