William to make appearance on Harry's birthday as brothers remain bitterly estranged

Prince William is set to visit Princetown, a remote Dartmoor village, on September 15 to launch the Princetown Community Fund, a regeneration initiative worth at least £250,000.

The fund will support social, economic, and environmental projects in the area, which has faced challenges since Dartmoor Prison was vacated in 2024 due to radon contamination.

Grants ranging from £500 to £40,000 will be administered by Devon Communities Together, alongside guidance for local organisations.

This engagement coincides with Prince Harry’s 42nd birthday, though William has not publicly acknowledged his brother’s recent return to Britain.

The fund reflects William’s broader commitment to channel over £500 million in Duchy of Cornwall resources over the next decade into housing, renewable energy, agricultural resilience, and community development.

His decision to redirect the £1.5 million annual prison rent toward revitalising Princetown marks a significant shift in how he manages Duchy revenues, distancing himself from controversial income streams.

During his visit, William will stop at Gather & Moor, a community hub developed by the Duchy, meet members of Princetown Press, and speak with residents about their vision for the village’s future. He will also visit the local youth club, which has benefited from Duchy funding.

The initiative builds on existing efforts like the Princetown Place Strategy and Encounters Shop programme, aiming to strengthen the resilience and identity of this isolated moorland community.
