  Ondo air crash pilot dies two weeks after wedding Squadron Leader Ahamefule Aham Man-Ugwueje, one of the pilots of the Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft, NAF 931, which crashed in Igbokoda, Ondo State, on Monday, got married in an elaborate ceremony in Abuja two weeks before the accident. Man-Ugwueje tied the knot with Flight Lieutenant Damilola Adekunle on September 19, 2026, according to details of the wedding invitation and posts by vendors involved in the ceremony. According to information on his Facebook profile, Man-Ugwueje’s hometown is listed as Umuahia, Abia State, while Abuja is listed as his current town/city. The aircraft, which had 25 people on board, including five crew members and 20 passengers, crashed while on a routine mission from Benin to Lagos. The Nigerian Air Force on Tuesday confirmed that all 25 people on board died in the accident and released their names. SEVEN SUSPECTS ARRESTED WITH UNLICENSED FIREARM AND AMMUNITION FOLLOWING INTELLIGENCE-DRIVEN OPERATION IN MAKUMEKE VILLAGE


Swift response by the police in Malamulele, Limpopo, led to the arrest of seven male suspects aged between 30 and 54 for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition on Friday morning, 02 October 2026. 


Police received information about a white Suzuki Ertiga seven-seater motor vehicle with seven male occupants driving around Makumeke village near a filling station and heading towards Malamulele, suspected to be planning to commit a robbery.


Police immediately commenced with the search for the motor vehicle in the Malamulele policing area until it was positively spotted parked next to a spaza shop.


Traffic Officers who were conducting vehicle checkpoints in the area were requested to be on the lookout for the motor vehicle and instructed to stop it along the Malamulele public road.


Police tactically approached the white Suzuki Ertiga and instructed all male occupants to disembark. Permission was requested to search the vehicle, and police discovered a firearm and ammunition concealed under the middle seat.


All seven male occupants denied any knowledge of the firearm and ammunition and were immediately placed under arrest for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.


During the arrest, police also seized the white Suzuki Ertiga seven-seater motor vehicle, a firearm and ammunition.


The seven male suspects are expected to appear before the Malamulele Magistrate's Court on Monday, 05 October 2026, facing charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.


Police investigations are continuing.
