  Ondo air crash pilot dies two weeks after wedding Squadron Leader Ahamefule Aham Man-Ugwueje, one of the pilots of the Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft, NAF 931, which crashed in Igbokoda, Ondo State, on Monday, got married in an elaborate ceremony in Abuja two weeks before the accident. Man-Ugwueje tied the knot with Flight Lieutenant Damilola Adekunle on September 19, 2026, according to details of the wedding invitation and posts by vendors involved in the ceremony. According to information on his Facebook profile, Man-Ugwueje’s hometown is listed as Umuahia, Abia State, while Abuja is listed as his current town/city. The aircraft, which had 25 people on board, including five crew members and 20 passengers, crashed while on a routine mission from Benin to Lagos. Veteran Nollywood actor Ramsey Nouah has surprised many of his fans by opening up about his mixed heritage and clearing up long-standing misconceptions about his cultural background. During a recent guest appearance on the popular web show Curiosity Made Me Ask, the 55-year-old film icon explained the roots of his cultural identity and his impressive command of the Yoruba language.


For years, fans have speculated about the actor's origins due to his unique looks. However, Nouah clarified that his deep connection to the Yoruba culture is entirely natural. Born and raised in Lagos, the actor revealed that his mother hails from Ondo State, which naturally influenced his upbringing and language skills.


The Ondo Connection and Growing Up in Lagos


According to the actor, speaking Yoruba fluently is not a skill he had to force. Growing up in the vibrant city of Lagos under the care of his Yoruba mother gave him first-hand exposure to the language from a very young age. His explanation has sparked widespread conversation online, with many social media users admitting they had held incorrect assumptions about his background for decades.


A Legacy of Excellence in Nollywood


Ramsey Nouah rose to fame in the early 1990s and quickly established himself as one of the most recognizable faces in the Nigerian film industry. Over the years, his versatile acting skills have earned him numerous accolades, including the prestigious Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in 2010 for his exceptional performance in the critically acclaimed movie, The Figurine.

He pointed out that releasing movies directly to cinemas may not always be the best financial decision for producers. According to Nouah, high advertising costs and promotional expenses often make it difficult for filmmakers to recover their initial capital investments through cinema runs alone.


His wealth of experience has also served as a guiding light for younger colleagues. Actress Adunni Ade recently shared how Nouah gave her pivotal career advice back in 2011, urging her to relocate to Nigeria to fully tap into the opportunities within the local entertainment industry.
