Catholic Priests Not Like ‘Fake Bishops’, Atiku Blasts Presidency’s Attack On Onaiyekan Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress ADC, Atiku Abubakar, has condemned the Presidency’s attack on the Catholic Church and John Cardinal Onaiyekan, accusing the President Bola Tinubu administration of growing intolerant of dissent and uncomfortable truths. In a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu on Sunday, Atiku said the Presidency chose intimidation and political attacks instead of reflecting on the substance of the cleric’s message. Catholic bishops had recently had an engagement with the president, where the latter defended his record and the independence of the electoral umpire. Gov. Buni Approves Recruitment of 45 Midwives The Yobe state Governor and Chairman APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, His Excellency, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has approved the recruitment of 45 graduands of Shehu Sule College of Nursing and Midwifery. Gov. Buni gave the approval today saying, this is to improve the manpower required in health institutions across the state. The 45 midwives who recently graduated from the state owned college of Nursing and Midwifery, will be employed and posted to health facilities in need of additional manpower. The governor reiterated that, healthcare delivery remains a priority area of his administration and would continue to provide manpower, equipment and all other facilities required to make healthcare delivery accessible and affordable to the people of the state.   1.      The Anambra State Government has re-strategized the evacuation of students of Anambra State origin from the University of Jos following the sudden closure of the University by the authorities in the wake of the outbreak of communal hostilities in Plateau State in the last few days. The evacuation will now be handled by both the Anambra State Liaison Office in Abuja and GUO Transport Company Ltd which has a strong operation in Jos. This is to make for greater efficiency. 2.      Every student of the University of Jos from Anambra State who wants to return immediately to the State is required to go to the GUO station in Jos and present his or her student identity card as well as an identity card showing membership of the Anambra State Students Association of the University.
