 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

There Was An Attempt To Bomb Me Near Kawo Bridge In Kaduna - Buhari President Muhammadu Buhari has in Kaduna on Thursday, recalled with nostalgia how he narrowly escaped being bombed near the Kawo bridge, while travelling to Katsina State in July 2014. Buhari who was at the newly constructed Kawo bridge executed by the El-Rufai administration, said ”there was an attempt to bomb me here…there was a market nearby .”….but his security escort were vigilant. The Kawo bridge was a project ,many said had became a cynosure, which had attracted many tourists to Kaduna since its completion. Former Governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu has explained his reasons for visiting former Military President, Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, saying, he went to receive his blessings. Tinubu stated this after a closed-door meeting with the elder statesman in his Hilltop country home in Minna, Niger State. He stated, “if you restrict my visit to this house that is it. Generally, I came to Niger State to commiserate with the Governor and the people of Niger State. And so, I can’t stop by without paying a courtesy call to the enigma General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, Retired”. On whether he got his blessings, the presidential candidate replied, ” he gave me his prayers. You want to know the outcome of the consultation? We are running a democracy”. Speaking on his ambition, he stated,” I took my decision voluntarily and I am running for the Presidency of the country, we are running a democracy, thank you very much and God bless you”.

  Like Father Like Son, Obasanjo Decorates Son As Brigadier General  Former President of Nigeria, General Olusegun Obasanjo (Rtd.) has decorated his son, Adeboye Obasanjo as Brigadier-General in the Nigerian Army, following his promotion. Obasanjo a former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, was accorded a rare privilege by the military authorities on Wednesday, 19th January, 2022, to decorate his son with his newly acquired rank of a Brigadier-General at the Nigerian Army Engineers Corps at the Bonny Camp, Lagos. The two term civilian President and former Military Head of State, who is also a retired Army General was accompanied by Towulade of Akinale Kingdom of Egbaland, Oba Olufemi Ogunleye to the occasion. LASG ANNOUNCES TRAFFIC DIVERSION AT APAPA DOCKYARD ROAD FOR LEVEL CROSSING MAINTENANCE The Lagos State Government has announced that traffic will be diverted at Apapa Dockyard Road from 6:00 pm on Sunday, 23rd of January till 6:00 am on Monday, 24th January, 2022 for maintenance works on the Level Crossing in continuation of the Nigerian Railway Modernisation Project (Lagos-Ibadan section). A statement signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde disclosed further that the maintenance works were vital to keeping the rail track in proper condition to ensure the safety of the commuting public. Explaining the traffic diversion plan, he stated that while a side of the road is being repaired, a counterflow will be created on the free lane to enable motorists plying the route to reach their desired destinations without much difficulty.
