 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

POLICE PARADES 14 CRIMINAL SUSPECTS IN KWARA  Kwara state Police Command has arrested fourteen suspects over alleged criminal conspiracy,armed robbery,Cultism,and Culpable homicide. Parading the suspect at the Police headquarters Ilorin, the state Commisssioner of police , Victor Olaiya said arms and other dangerous weapons were also recovered from the suspects. According to him, one Opadiran Yetunde of Egbejila area of Ilorin reported that about four men invaded her residence and carted aways valuables worth millions of naira. He said on investigations into the case led to the recovery of her vehicle in Lagos from one Abdulsalam Nurudeen Saka and Segun. Mr Olaiya said during interrogation the suspects mentioned three other accomplices who are  at large. He noted that on 15th of October this year the three suspects were arrested at a police check point on Eiyenkorin/Ogbomoso highway while on transit in a commercial vehicle from Ibadan. NNPP national chairman escapes assassination The national chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Dr Major Agbo, loyal to the founder, Dr Boniface Aniebonam, has escaped an assassination attempt in his office in Abuja. Addressing journalists in Abuja, Agbo said that he escaped the assassination attempt in the NNPP’s newly opened office, adding that the attempt was made on his life while he was in the office on Monday, 16th August 2023. According to Mirror UK, Kaur Mann was sentenced by a court in India for the mur dèr of Sukhjeet Singh. The court in India heard how Kaur Mann had p0is0ned her family before slitt!ng her husband’s thr0at on September 2, 2016, in order to inherit £2 million from his life insurance.

Woman remanded in Umuahia Correctional Centre for alleged s3xual exploitation of girls and child trafficking. A 56-year-old woman, Nma Lilian Achumba has been remanded in Nigeria Correctional Centre, Afara, Umuahia by a Magistrate Court sitting in Umuahia, for allegedly recruiting and abducting 21 young girls for sē xual exploitation and child tra fficking. The accused was charged with recruiting and abducting young girls and exploiting them se#ually in Umunkpeyi Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South LGA and Olokoro, Umuahia South LGA of the State in June, 2023. But the 56-year-old woman, who used to run the Nma Charity and Rehabilitation Centre in Abia State, pleaded not guilty. In a short ruling after her plea, the trial Magistrate, Ngozi Lekwa, said that the offence is punishable under Section 13, Sub section 1, 2 and C of Trafficking in Persons Enforcement and Administration Act 2015 and Section 86 of the Criminal Code, as applicable in Abia State.
