 Alleged $34.4m Fraud: Court Refuses Binance Executive Bail as EFCC Presents First Witness   Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Friday 17, May 2024, threw out a bail application filed by Tigran Gambaryan, Binance executive and second defendant in an alleged tax evasion, currency speculation and money laundering case to the tune of $34,400,000 (Thirty-Four Million, Four Hundred Thousand United States Dollars).   Ruling on the bail application filed on April 8, 2024 by defence counsel, Mark Mordi (SAN), the judge held that the defendant had no respect for the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, adding that shortly after his arraignment on April 8, 2024, he hatched a plot to escape from lawful custody in similar fashion his partner and first defendant, Nadeem Anjarwalla escaped.   The judge further noted that both defendants shared the same space in detention before the escape of the first defendant and that some of his co-conspirators are in the United

 TROOPS NEUTRALIZE IPOB/ESN IED EXPERT



Troops of the Nigerian Army in conjunction with sister services and other security agencies on Wednesday 2 May 2024 neutralized an Improvised Explosive Devices (IED)expert of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed affiliate Eastern Security Network (ESN) in Orsu - Ihitteukwa, Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State. 


The  troops  comprising the Nigerian Army, Navy, Air Force, Nigerian Police, Department of States Services and the Nigerian Securities and Civil Defence Corps whowere on a clearance operation around Udaah, Identa Ihitteukwa and Awo Idemili in Orsu LGA of Imo State, made contact with the dissidents, who opened fire, lobbed hand held IEDs and launched locally  made rockets (Ogbunigwe) at the advancing troops. 


While the troops advanced, several IEDs were detonated by the terrorists who fled in disarray. One of the dissidents was  neutralized, while connecting the explosive  to its power source.


Items recovered include locally made rocket launchers, defused IEDs, pipes, wires and other materials used in the production of  explosives and locally made rocket launchers. The troops also covered several ditches used as obstacles on the roads linking the communities by the ESN elements.


The Nigerian Army will continue to conduct its operations to deter the irredentist from freedom of action.
