 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

N43M FRAUD: EFCC IBADAN ZONE ARRAIGNS 6 MEN FOR ABUSE OF OFFICE.{PHOTOS}.

              The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,today wednesday May 17,2017,arraigned David Olayinka Olojede,Akingbade Latilo,Dr Gbadamosi Basiru,Oluwafemi Kujembola,Amobi Yunusa Akintola and Ogungbemi Olatokunbo before Justice M.A Onyetenu of the Federal High Court Osogbo on an Eight-count charge bordering on conspiracy and Money Laundering.The defendants however,pleaded not guilty to the charges.In view of their plea,prosecution counsel,Cosmos Ugwu prayed the court for a trial date and for the remand of the defendants in prison custody.He also informed the court that he was served a bail application this morningg and needs time to respond.However,counsels to the defendants informed the court of their bail applications dated 16th May,2017 and filed this morning and thereafter,prayed the court to allow them move same.Justice Onyetenu adjourned the case till May 20,2017 for hearing of the bail application.The defendants were former members of the governing council of the

                      The Minister of Interior,Lt Gen. {Rtd} Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau has presented certificates of citizenship to 335 naturalized/registered citizens with the promise that henceforth Nigeria would grant approval for citizenship to deserving persons annually.Gen. Dambazau spoke on the occasion of the formal conferment of citizenship and presentation of Certificates to those who became citizens of Nigeria either by Naturalization or registration,in Abuja.According to the Minister,''In line with Mr President's 'CHANGE' Policy hinged on the three cardinal principles of anti-corruption,security and job creation,the Ministry of interior ensured that all deserving persons were recommended to Mr President for approval''.The Minister stated that the approval of citizenship to them was also in line with government's effort at improving on the ease of doing business in the country,and urged them to positively project the image of the country both

                                                   The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,yesterday tuesday,May 16,2017 arraigned the duo of Buhari.Fannami and Bakuru Abdullahi on two separate one count charge before Justice M.T Salihu of the Federal High Court Maiduguri,for allegedly giving false information to the agency under the whistle blowing policy.Fannamit had misled the EFCC with the information about illegally acquired monies purportedly buried at the residence of one Ba'a Lawan but the information turned out to be false after the execution of a search warrant.The accused person pleaded not guilty to the charge.Counsel to the prosecution Alkassim Ja'afar asked for a trial date and prayed the court to remand the accused person in the prison custody pending trial.Justice Salihu adjourned the Matter to June 7 and 8,2017 for hearing and ordered the accused to be remanded in the prison custody.On his part,Ba-Kura Abdullahi also gave false information to the effe

A MAN ''EMMANUEL'' IS LEFT PERMANENTLY BLIND IN BOTH EYES AFTER ACID ATTACK IN OGBARU ANAMBRA STATE.{PHOTOS}.

                      The young man pictured above simply identified as Emmanuel,has been left blinded in both eyes after a member of his community identified as Wike Ugonna allegedly attacked him with acid during a land dispute at their village in Atani in Ogbaru local government area of Anambra State on May 10th,2017.According to reports,Emmanuel's family had approached Wike's family to use a part of a land they use for farming in their community but the Wike's family turned down their request.This created a friction between both families.On the day of the attack,Emmanuel was said to be working on another person's farmland whenWike approached him and allegedly poured acid on him and also cut him with a machete.Wike is currently on the run.More photos below.
