 World’s Youngest Reigning Monarch , King Oyo, Dies at 34 King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, the traditional ruler of Uganda’s Tooro Kingdom who became the world’s youngest reigning monarch after ascending the throne at three, has died at the age of 34. The monarch reportedly died on Thursday, with the Prime Minister of the Tooro Kingdom, Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire Akiiki, announcing his death on Friday. The cause of death was not immediately disclosed. However, Ugandan media reports quoted a government minister as saying that King Oyo had been critically ill and was receiving medical treatment in the United States. Reacting to the development, Akiiki described the monarch’s death as a major loss to the royal family and the people of Tooro. He urged members of the kingdom to remain united and calm while mourning the traditional ruler.                              According to the Independent National Electoral Commission {INEC}returning officer,Dr Mariam Quadri,declared Nollywood actor Desmond Elliot,of the All Progressives Congress {APC} the winner of Surulere constituency 1.She said ''That Desmond Olusola Elliot of APC,having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes,is hereby declared winner and is returned elected''.Desmond Elliot of the APC scored 23,141 votes while Mr Bayo Smith of the PDP came second with 12,546 votes.Mrs Mosunmola Sangodara Rotimi of the PDP,won Surulere constituency 2.Mean while checkout Demond Elliot fans blessing him with wine.One more picture below.
