 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

OJU AYO 2017: EKITI TO DISTRIBUTE 5000 FREE EYE GLASSES.{PHOTOS}.

      Ekiti State government is set to distribute 5000 pair of eye glasses to people with eye defects as its officials on Monday took delivery of the items. Managing director of ADFAG Nigeria Limited, Mr. Ademola Agboola whose company is in charge of the supply said his company within the last two months visited beneficiaries across the 16LGAs of the state for proper eye testing before arriving at recommendation of the glasse s.       Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH on Tuesday disclosed that its partnership with Bridge Clinic, Nigeria’s foremost fertility clinic has in the last six years resulted in 74 live births through Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART). Speaking during a Press Conference at the Hospital, the Chief Medical Director, CMD, LASUTH, Prof. Adewale Oke explained that the rationale behind the initiative was to give hope to women who had hitherto been rejected as a result of infertility. He said that the hospital is specifically increasing the access of the low-income earners into the ART treatment through discounted fee, as a Corporate Social Responsibility platform of the partners in reaching out to the less privileged in the society.         The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, arraigned one Adebayo Ogunnusi and his company, TQM Infrastructure Limited, before Justice Sybil Nwaka of the Lagos High Court sitting in Igbosere, Lagos on one-count charge bordering on obtaining money under false pretence to the tune of N50, 400,000.00( Fifty Million, Four Hundred Thousand Naira). The offence is contrary to Section 1(1) (a) and 1 (3 ) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act No. 14 of 2006.The complainant, Kehinde Agbabiaka, alleged that he approached the suspect, who presented himself as Head, Small and Medium Enterprise desk of a new generation bank, to source for the sum of $ 160,000 ( One Hundred and Sixty Thousand Dollars), which he needed to import goods from China within a week.Agbabiaka further alleged that he transferred the money in installments of N47, 250,000.00 on August 22, 2016 and N3,150,000.00 on August 26, 2016 respectively to the GT Ban

     On sunday,the Catholic Church I do attend,celebrated their Harvest thanksgiving and Bazaar.It was a joint service { 8am Mass} for those that like attending 6:30am and 9:am mass.The church was filled up to the brim and everybody wore their best.I decided to wear a wine red blouse with gold and some white details.Yes it is an Indian blouse because It was bought in Indian.I wore a short wig so that I can show off my large Indian earings and necklace that have a similar pattern details on my blouse.I wore a black long suade skirt so that the wine blouse will be the center of attraction.I wore a gold stud wedge open toe half shoe,then carried a gold stud purse to match the gold wedge heels.The funny thing is that I have the blue version of this wine and gold stud blouse lol.I really danced on sunday that was why I wore a comfortable shoe because after the Mass/service we all stayed behind for the reception.Those that wore sky high heels were all running back to their cars or houses to

ARMY COMMISSIONS BOARD OF INQUIRY TO INVESTIGATE SHOOTING INCIDENT IN CHIBOK.

       The Headquarters of 28 Task Force Brigade Nigerian Army has instituted a Board of Inquiry (BOI) to unravel the circumstances surrounding the shooting incident that resulted in the death of an Officer and a Senior Non-Commission Officer (SNCO), deployed on duty at Chibok, Borno State earlier Sunday, 12th November 2017. At about 12.50pm today, the unit received a report that a Staff was seen  to be drunk and misbehaving to civilians. An officer was despatched to the scene with a view to bring him back to base. The officer did his best but the SNCO refused several entreaties to calm him and be disarmed by the superior officer. Unfortunately, the Staff Sergeant shot the officer dead and then killed himself. Their remains have since been evacuated to a military facility. The BOI is expected investigate the incident and promptly turn in its report and findings in one week. The Nigerian Army is a disciplined and professional force with zero tolerance for any acts of indiscipline

      The Lagos State Government acknowledges Amnesty International's (UK) latest report but would like to reject same for its apparent bias, inaccuracies and exaggerations. The government therefore clarifies as follows: 1. The main area of focus in the report - Ilado (which visitors to the State often refer to as Otodo Gbame) has always been a private land and subject of a law suit, which has been decided in favour of the family owners. 2. It was in November 2016 that inter-ethnic clashes led to the fire incident that got the settlement consumed and not as a result of government-sponsored demolition. 3. Otodo Gbame was one of the 39 waterfront settlements that took Lagos State to court over its plan to rid its prime waterfront areas of illegal shanties that constitute security and environmental threat to the general public. ANAMBRA ELECTION: POLICE WARN IPOB+DEPLOYED 26,000 OFFICERS AND 15 GUNBOATS.{PHOTO}.

       The Nigeria Police Force has deployed 26,000, 15 gunboats and 303 patrol vehicles for the Anambra State gubernatorial election scheduled for 18 November. This was disclosed in a statement by Mr. Jimoh Moshood, Force Public Relations Officer.       Anambra State Governor, Mr Willie Obiano, could not resist the urge to take shots at his opponents during the governorship debate organised on Sunday by Channels Television with Peoples Democratic candidate, Mr Oseloka Obaze being at the receiving end of his attacks. Obiano of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) argued that none of those out to boot him out of power were competent to be governor and that they were better off doing something else. ANAMBRA GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION: BOMB SCARE AT INEC OFFICE IN AWKA YESTERDAY.

        There were rumours of bomb scare at the Anambra headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, following alleged discovery of a substance which looked like an improvised explosive device (IED). A source who pleaded not to be named told DAILY POST that the device was detected by men of the anti-bomb squad of the Nigeria Police Force who combed the entire compound very early on Monday mornin g. Our source said, “It was early yesterday morning that I was trying to use that road, when police condoned it off. We were told that they found a device that looked like a bomb and had to stop everyone to so that they can diffuse the device. Consequently, security has been beefed up at the premises.
