The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.      Lagos State has taken an audacious step towards improving security in all communities across the State, with the inauguration of State Community Policing Advisory Committee (SCPAC) and its operations arm, State Community Policing Committee (SCPC). Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday, inaugurated members of the two committees at a ceremony held at the State House in Alausa, pointing out that the event marked a turning point in the Government’s deliberate effort to re-strategise and rethink the security architecture using Community Policing Initiative as proposed by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Muhammed Abubakar Adamu. The security initiative, the Governor said, is long overdue, adding that the reform is being implemented with the objective to address inadequacies of the current policing model, which, he said, had failed to engage members of local communities and neighbourhoods in knowledge sharing and intelligence gathering that could help in nipping crimes

Good people of Lagos, Today, 20 COVID19 Lagos patients; 14 males and 6 females, all Nigerians were discharged from our Gbagada, Eti-Osa (LandMark) and Agidingbi Isolation facilities to reunite with the society. The patients, 11 from Gbagada, 8 from Eti-Osa (LandMark) and 1 from Agidingbi Isolation Centres were discharged having fully recovered and tested negative to COVID-19. DR ORJI UZOR KALU,RELEASED FROM KUJE CORRECTIONAL CENTRE TODAY.{PHOTOS}.

           Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, former Governor of Abia State was on Wednesday night released from the Kuje Correctional Centre, Abuja. The former governor, now a serving senator, was reportedly set free from prison around 7:30pm. The Federal High Court in Lagos, had on Tuesday ordered the immediate release of  Kalu from Kuje prison.The court also ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to immediately put machinery in motion for the retrial of the former governor. The court further ordered that his trial should start afresh along side the former Director of Finance in Abia State Government  House, Ude Jones Udeogu in line with the judgement of the Supreme  Court that declared Udeogu’s trial, conviction and sentence a nullity. Orji is serving a 12-year jail term at the Correctional Service Centre in Kuje, Abuja for looting N7.65 billion belonging to the Abia State Government.       Yesterday,Queen Elizabeth celebrated 67th anniversary as a Queen.  Queen Elizabeth II was crowned on 2 June, 1953 in Westminster Abbey. Her Majesty was the thirty-ninth Sovereign to be crowned at Westminster Abbey, the setting for every Coronation since 1066. Whilst an occasion for celebration, The Queen’s Coronation was a solemn, religious ceremony that lasted almost three hours.‬ ‪The service has remained essentially the same for over 1,000 years.More photos below.

ANOTHER NIGERIAN GIRL RAPED AND MURDERED IN IBADAN,OYO STATE.{PHOTOS}.

     It was gathered that the incident happened on Monday but the deceased’s body was found around their residence in Akinyele area of Ibadan on Tuesday. Her family members were said to have discovered that she had been raped after her body was examined. Barakat has been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
