  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. AU GIVE'S BURKINA FASO COUP LEADERS 96 HOURS,TO RESTORE A NEW GOVT OR FACE SANCTIONS.

             Yesterday friday the African Union has suspended Burkina Faso and will impose sanctions on coup leaders if they do not restore the interim government and release its leaders.Soldiers from the elite presidential guard {RSP} stormed into a cabinet meeting on wednesday and abducted President Michel Kafando and Prime Minister Zida,disrupting a transition period due to end with polls next month.General Gilbert Diendere,a former spy chief,was named junta head the next day.The AU statement followed a meeting of the Peace and Security Council in Addis Ababa.It gave coup leaders 96 hours,or until September 22,to restore the transitional government or face travel bans and asset freezes.

FIRE RAZED PART OF MINISTRY OF COMMERCE BUILDING IN LAGOS SECRETARIAT ALUASA TODAY.

                     Today saturday around 1pm fire gutted a portion of the Lagos State Ministry of commerce and industry at the Lagos State Government Secretariat,Alausa in Ikeja.The fire razed part of the third floor of the ministry.Thick smoke enveloped the building around 1pm with balls of fire emanating from the building thereafter.At least four offices were destroyed in the fire.Officials of the Lagos State Fire Service raced to the scene and were able to put out the fire before it razed the entire building.

THE HUSBAND OF THE WOMAN,THAT WAS SHOT DEAD BY A POLICE CORPORAL IN LAGOS,DIED TODAY.

                     Today saturday morning,the brother of Godwin Ekpo,the husband of a woman Idongesit,who was shot dead by policemen at Isheri Oshun,died today.According to his brother,he died at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital Ikeja where he was taken for treatment early today morning.The victims were shot by a team of policemen attached to the Isheri Osun Police Division in Alimosho Local Government Area.The couple was returning from a church programme on wednesday in a tricycle belonging to the family to their in Abaranje in Ikotun when the incident happened.Godwin met a police checkpoint at Obalage bus stop,where other tricycle riders were being reportedly extorted by an eight man police team.When they approached the busstop,a police officer identified as Aremu Muesiu,reportedly opened fire on the tricycle when the couple refused to give the cops bribe.The bullet pierced through the tricycle back side and hit Idongesit,who was breast feeding a three month old baby.She di
