  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.      Today the 17th of July, Executives of the Ibidun Ighodalo Foundation launched the 40at40 project which is geared towards providing an opportunity for couples who are facing infertility challenges to be able to have babies of their own through alternative methods of conceiving such as In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF), artificial insemination, etc. Founder of IIF, Ibidunni Ighodalo recently pass on but had planned to help 40 couples embattled with infertility in Nigeria to become parents through her foundation as a celebration for her 40th birthday. Unfortunately, she left before bringing this to reality but her friends, families, partners, and well-wishers have vowed to bring this desire of late Ibidun to reality as they kick-off the project today through a relaunch of the foundation and a press conference which held today.More photos below.

     The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court in Nigeria, Justice John Tsoho has gone on self isolation following a confirmed case of COVID -19 among his official aides. Justice Tsoho in the bid to prevent possible spread of the virus has also ordered some key staff in his office to do same, pending the results of screening tests done for him, members of his immediate family and close aides. Aikawa in which the court dismissed in its totality the application by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for forfeiture order on my home in Ilorin, Kwara State. I am particularly happy that the court specifically ruled that there was no evidence that the property was built with any illicit or stolen funds from Kwara State Government or any other institution or quarter, whatsoever. 2.        Nigerian entrepreneur, Nneka Ede has become the first African woman to own a European football club after buying Lusitano Ginasio Clube, a Portuguese third division side.. Ede who secured 100 percent ownership of the 108-years-old club which last played in the Portuguese top-flight division in the 1950’s for an undisclosed amount, said her recent acquisition will help foster a greater relationship between Portugal and Nigeria. A MAN ARRESTED FOR BRUTALIZING HIS WIFE AND STEPCHILDREN IN ANAMBRA STATE.{PHOTOS}.

     According to people who claim to be close to the situation, the man identified as Iwuchukwu Anajemba Samson is in the habit of brutalizing his wife, Ifunanya Georgina Anajemba, and her kids at their home at Alex Anajemba Street, Akabo Village in Mbaukwu, Anambra state. He allegedly came home on Tuesday, July 14, and accused her of gossiping about him with their neighbours. He then attacked her. Photos of the woman's scalded skin were shared on Facebook and her husband was accused of being responsible for it. The skin of her legs was peeling, exposing her flesh. The skin on her fingers was also swollen and about ready to burst open. According to reports, this comes a few weeks after he allegedly poured fuel on one of his stepdaughters and ignited it with a match stick.      The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Mashi Council of Katsina State has asked House of Representatives member, Mansur Mashi, to retract comments made against President Muhammadu Buhari or risk recall. Speaking on behalf of some members of the ruling party at a press conference, the chairman, Armaya’u Doka, said the comment belittled the APC and members of his constituency in Katsina.      Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Benin Zonal Office on Thursday July 16, 2020 arrested a 22-year old Computer Science Undergraduate of the University of Port Harcourt. Kenneth Gift, his girl friend, Dandy Spice and mother, Dorah Aninah for suspected internet fraud in Agbor, Delta State. Their arrest was sequel to a petition from the US Federal Bureau of invest igation, FBI, and intelligence by operatives of the Commission. Items recovered from them at the point of arrest include a 5-bedroom duplex, Mercedes-Benz CA250, Mercedes-Benz C250, Mercedes Benz GLK 350, laptop computers and mobile phones.
