 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud.  EPL: I’m pushing Osimhen to join Chelsea, he loves the club – Mikel Obi Former Super Eagles midfielder, John Obi Mikel, has joked that he is the agent to Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen and said he is trying to get him to join Chelsea. Osimhen is expected to cost his next club as much as €130million, which is the value of his release clause. However, Mikel Obi admits that the Blues face interest from Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.  Two Fraudsters Bag Jail Terms in Kaduna  The Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has secured the conviction and sentence of Mohammed Nasir Sadeeq for cheating and Daniel John for cheating by impersonation  before Justice A.A Isiaka of the Kaduna State High Court.  Both were prosecuted on one-count separate charges bordering on cheating and personation. One of the count charge reads: “That you Daniel John (a.k.a Jamie Doman) male, sometime in November, 2023, within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, impersonated one Jamie Doman when you pretended to be a Bitcoin online investor agent on Instagram, obtained the sum of $200 (Two Hundred Dollars) from unsuspecting persons and thereby committed cheating by impersonation, an offence contrary to Section 308 of the Penal Code Law, 2017 of Kaduna State and punishable under Section 309 of the same Law.” They both pleaded guilty to the charge when it was read to them.  Nasarawa Police Arrest Fake Corps Member In NYSC Camp  The Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a fake National Youth Service Corp member, Ogeh Bethel Chibuife at the Magaji Dan Yumusa Orientation Camp, Keffi. A Statement Issued On Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer of the state, DSP Ramhan Nansel said the arrest followed a complaint lodged at the Keffi Divisional Headquarters by a Staff of NYSC.  Oregon mom sentenced to 30 days in jail for refusing to let her daughter undergo medical treatments for cancer and instead treating her with CBD oil. I want to begin this article by stating her daughter, Kylie Dixon, now 18, is alive and currently cancer-free after a judge intervened and she received the required treatments for liver cancer. The judge ordered she undergo chemo, surgery to remove the tumor on her liver and follow up care.  39-year-old Christina Dixon was sentenced to 3 months in jail and supervised probation upon her release. She was being charged with custodial interference and criminal mistreatment. These charges stem from a 2019 incident in which Dixon refused to let her 13-year-old daughter undergo treatment and surgery for a treatable cancerous tumor on her liver. UPDATE: AN ATTORNEY WHO ARRESTED ON POSSESSION OF NARCOTICS AND FIREARMS, PLESDS OUT TO A REDUCED SENTENCE. (PHOTO).

Update- an Olney, Illinois attorney who was arrested on possession of narcotics and firearms, pleads out to a reduced sentence. Paul Bishop, was first arrested in May of 2023 and charged with possession of cocaine and psilocybin mushrooms. He was also charged with possession of firearms without a FOID card. A few months later in August, Bishop was again charged with possession of drugs. On Wednesday, February 28th, Bishop entered a guilty plea on the first set of charges and the state dropped the charges from August.  Bishop was sentenced to 24 months probation, ordered to attend treatment for drug use, 30 hours of community service and ordered to pay $2,815.00 in fines. The firearms will be given to a relative upon presentation of a valid FOID card.  Aba Power to start commercial operations this weekend Aba Power Ltd, a subsidiary of Geometric Power, will start supplying power from one of its three turbines to consumers in the Aba Ring-fenced Area this weekend, two weeks ahead of the take-off date originally scheduled. The company had scheduled supplies to commercial customers 13 days after commissioning, but, according to sources, its Chairman, Professor Bart Nnaji, who is a former Minister of Power, has directed the utility’s engineers to provide “power to the people without fail this weekend”. Porsha Williams has wasted no time in reverting to her maiden name. The American reality star, who married Nigerian businessman Simon Guobadia 15 months ago, filed to divorce him this month. The divorce announcement came after it emerged that Simon was denied US citizenship because of credit card fraud, identity fraud, among others. Porsha, who was on Instagram on Valentine’s Day and the days after flaunting her love for Simon, has now ended their union.   She has also removed Guobadia from her Instagram bio and reverted to her maiden name, Williams.

The Association of Table Waters Producers (ATWAP) has said that the price of pure water may be sold for N100 per one due to the high cost of production materials. The group which spoke at a press conference in Lagos, said they’ve been facing so many challenges such as high cost of diesel, lack of power as well as high cost of production. They also said that the current price of water sales reflects the situation of the country. One of the group’s representatives said;  “Pure water is sold for N50 now, and it is even going up to N100 per one. At our own end, there’s nothing we can do. The cost of production is high. “As at last year December, we were buying materials (nylon) for N1,100 per KG. The 6 kg of nylon is now N3,600/N3,700. The cost of treatment is also high. The increment for these materials comes at 3 times in one week.  NURTW HQ Wades Into Rift Between Lagos Bosses MC Oluomo & Seego The National headquarters of the NURTW (National Union of Road Transport Workers) has waded into the rift between the Chairman of the Lagos state chapter, Musiliu Akinsanya alias MC Oluomo, and Treasurer, Mustapha Adekunle also known as Seego.
