The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.  Oregon mom sentenced to 30 days in jail for refusing to let her daughter undergo medical treatments for cancer and instead treating her with CBD oil. I want to begin this article by stating her daughter, Kylie Dixon, now 18, is alive and currently cancer-free after a judge intervened and she received the required treatments for liver cancer. The judge ordered she undergo chemo, surgery to remove the tumor on her liver and follow up care.  39-year-old Christina Dixon was sentenced to 3 months in jail and supervised probation upon her release. She was being charged with custodial interference and criminal mistreatment. These charges stem from a 2019 incident in which Dixon refused to let her 13-year-old daughter undergo treatment and surgery for a treatable cancerous tumor on her liver. Update- an Olney, Illinois attorney who was arrested on possession of narcotics and firearms, pleads out to a reduced sentence. Paul Bishop, was first arrested in May of 2023 and charged with possession of cocaine and psilocybin mushrooms. He was also charged with possession of firearms without a FOID card. A few months later in August, Bishop was again charged with possession of drugs. On Wednesday, February 28th, Bishop entered a guilty plea on the first set of charges and the state dropped the charges from August.  Bishop was sentenced to 24 months probation, ordered to attend treatment for drug use, 30 hours of community service and ordered to pay $2,815.00 in fines. The firearms will be given to a relative upon presentation of a valid FOID card. Porsha Williams has wasted no time in reverting to her maiden name. The American reality star, who married Nigerian businessman Simon Guobadia 15 months ago, filed to divorce him this month. The divorce announcement came after it emerged that Simon was denied US citizenship because of credit card fraud, identity fraud, among others. Porsha, who was on Instagram on Valentine’s Day and the days after flaunting her love for Simon, has now ended their union.   She has also removed Guobadia from her Instagram bio and reverted to her maiden name, Williams.

The Association of Table Waters Producers (ATWAP) has said that the price of pure water may be sold for N100 per one due to the high cost of production materials. The group which spoke at a press conference in Lagos, said they’ve been facing so many challenges such as high cost of diesel, lack of power as well as high cost of production. They also said that the current price of water sales reflects the situation of the country. One of the group’s representatives said;  “Pure water is sold for N50 now, and it is even going up to N100 per one. At our own end, there’s nothing we can do. The cost of production is high. “As at last year December, we were buying materials (nylon) for N1,100 per KG. The 6 kg of nylon is now N3,600/N3,700. The cost of treatment is also high. The increment for these materials comes at 3 times in one week.  NURTW HQ Wades Into Rift Between Lagos Bosses MC Oluomo & Seego The National headquarters of the NURTW (National Union of Road Transport Workers) has waded into the rift between the Chairman of the Lagos state chapter, Musiliu Akinsanya alias MC Oluomo, and Treasurer, Mustapha Adekunle also known as Seego. Based on an agreement endorsed by the Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, MC Oluomo was supposed to have stepped down for Seego to become Chairman of the NURTW in Lagos state – while he pursues his ambition to become the next National President of the transport union.
