 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

      Gov Simon Lalong of Plateau state on Tuesday  said the relevant laws to try perpetrators of the recent attacks on the Plateau will soon be signed into law. Gov Lalong stated this while receiving the former Head of State and National Chairman of Nigeria Prays, Gen. Yakubu Gowon (rtd) who visited the Governor.  A statement signed by Yakubu Dati, the  Commissioner of Information and made available to newsmen in Jos the Plateau state capital reads that "Gov Lalong said "we've reviewed adequate laws to prosecute offenders in Jos". He commended the former Head of State for standing by the State as a father promising all efforts are being made to restore the State to it's place of glory. "We will ensure the enthronement of sustainable peace on the Plateau." He added. COURT JAILS MAN TODAY FOR 'SCUML' CERTIFICATE FORGERY.{PHOTO}.

     The anti money laundering agency, Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering, SCUML, domiciled in the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has secured the conviction of one Ebenezer Joshua before Justice Abbas Ahman of the Kebbi State High Court. The convict was arraigned on the 31st of July 2017 for allegedly conniving with one Franca Joseph to forge the certificate of the Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering (SC UML).The scam came to light when the SCUML received two registration forms for clearance from a new generation bank bearing the names, Noble Women for Better Tomorrow Initiative and another, Support Initiative for Better Maternal Health. Upon receipt of the certificates, some abnormalities were discovered during verification, including the fact that the sector codes on the certificates were those allocated to construction companies and not NGOs.The prosecution closed the case against the convict and his co-accused on March 1, 2018 after calling several

   This afternoon,the owner of the Vet clinic located in Festac {Name withheld}sent me this two photos,one of the photo showing the ritual pot hanging inside the roof of her clinic,while the second photo showed that the pot had been brought down. According to her,the roof of her vet clinic is leaking,so she called a carpenter who came in today to fix the roof.When the carpenter climbed up to fix the roof,immediately he opened the roof,lo and behold,a ritual pot was hanging there.The carpenter shouted out of fear and alerted her.This particular place this Vet doctor is using for her clinic,people usually rent the place and after one year they will run away.But because this Doctor is a born again Christian,she is the only tenant that broke that jinx and have been using that place for the past ten years in which people told her that they can't believe she stayed that long.When I called her on the phone after receiving her story,she said ''My dear I am highly favoured for 10

        Young boy named Richard who was beaten to death by SARS official, After he allegedly bought a stolen phone of 10k... Well he has been laid to rest, Amidst Tears on Saturday. The 300level student was buried at Gonin Gora Federal Cemetery Kaduna state.. On July 1st 2018,he was invited by some men who claimed to be Policemen from the CID,from his family compound at 7am.He died that same day at about 11:45pm in the police custody.May his soul rest in peace,Amen.One more photo below.

LASG ORGANISES TRAINING ON FORENSIC, CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION FOR LAWYERS.

      The Lagos State Government, through the Office of Public Defender (OPD) and in collaboration with the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA), U.S has organised a three-day training on Forensic and Crime Scene Investigation for operational efficiency of its lawyers. Declaring open the programme today in Lagos, the Solicitor General/Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Justice, Mrs. Funlola Odunlami said that the training was the second in the series, as the first, which was on Forensic Evidence and Crime Scene Investigation was held in 2017. She stated that the collaboration between the OPD and NITA has become the benchmark for what is possible in terms of capacity building and determination for counsels in a modern era where science and the law work hand in hand. She further said that the training, was based on practical demonstration of the protocol for Crime Scene Investigation and very important as litigation in Lagos State was on an upward trajectory

     Foremost anti-corruption agency in Nigeria, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has finalised plans to commemorate the 2018 African Anti- Corruption Day on Wednesday July 11, 2018with a road walk. According to the acting Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Ibrahim Magu the ‘walk’ which will involve cross section of stakeholders drawn from the Civil Society Organisations, Non-Governmental Organisations, Deve lopment partners, government agencies and trade union groups among others, will hold from 7am in Abuja and major cities where the Commission currently have office.The other cities are Lagos, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Kaduna, Kano, Gombe, Maiduguri, Enugu, Benin and Uyo.
