  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. 3 ABANDONED BABIES WERE RESCUED BY THE POLICE IN FESTAC TOWN LAGOS.

                    According to The Nation,Police operatives attached to Festac Division have rescued three abandoned babies.While two of the babies were successfully abandoned at different locations of Festac Town,the mother of the third was caught after dropping the about three week old child near a gas station on 21 Road.It was gathered that the woman identified as Bose Ojo,27 went to the area about 9:00am On July 27,dropped the baby and left.Unfortunate for her,a resident in the area saw her from her apartment situated at the first floor of a high rise building.The resident,it was gathered raised alarm and the woman was chased,while policemen at Festac Division were notified.She was arrested and upon interrogation,the woman was said to have denied abandoning the baby.According to a police source,Ojo and her baby were examined at Mother and Child Hospital,First Avenue,after which the child was admitted.The source said ''She claimed that she did not abandon the child.That sh

                                              Roshanara Ebrahim,Kenya's Miss World,has been stripped off her title and will not represent the country in the coming Miss World event.A Press release signed by the Miss World Kenya franchise holder and Ashleys CEO Terry Mungai read in part that ''A grave situation has come to our attention that is in breach of our code of conduct and our contract with the reigning  Miss World Kenya 2016 Roshanara.We uphold a strict code of conduct that expects beauty queens to manage their public and private life''.Then Roshanara after getting the news said ''It is with great sadness that i accept the decision of Miss World Kenya to relinquish me of my duties as Miss World Kenya 2016.I urge aspiring beauty queens to ensure their personal life does not affect their role as Miss World Kenya.I wish my successor the best as we look to clinching top position in the Miss World competition later in the year''.More photos below.

6,500 MIGRANTS HAD BEEN RESCUED SINCE THURSDAY TO YESTERDAY SUNDAY ,BY THE ITALIAN NAVY.

               According to a coastguard who said on twitter that,in one operation by the Italian navy vessel Vega,five migrants were picked up out of the sea,three people were resuscitated and two were already.The German aid group Jugend Rettet added that its ship luventa had taken part in the same operation to save 130 people packed onto a rubber dinghy that was taking on water,and had also recovered two bodies.A fifth body was found aboard a fishing boat from which some 470 migrants were rescued by the Italian navy and the Malta based aid group,Mooas.Sunday's rescue missions off the Libyan coast brought 1,100 migrants and refugees to safety overall,bringing the total to 6,530 since thursday,said the Italian coastguard which coordinates the operations.According to the latest figures from the UN's refugee agency earlier this week,more than 89,000 people,most from sub-Saharan Africa,have arrived in Italy by sea since the start of the year in search of a better life in Europe.

RING LEADER OF A GLOBAL NETWORK,BEHIND THOUSANDS OF ONLINE SCAMS WAS JUST ARRESTED IN NIGERIA.{READ}.

                             The head of an international criminal network behind thousands of online frauds has been arrestd in a joint operation by INTERPOL and the Nigerian Economic and Financial Crime Commission {EFCC}.The 40 year old Nigerian national,known as 'Mike',is believed to be behind scams totalling more than USD 60 million involving hundreds of victims worldwide,In one case a target was conned into paying out USD 15.4 million.The network compromised email accounts of small to medium businesses around the world including in Australia,Camada,India,Malaysia,Romania,South Africa,Thailand and the US,with the financial victims mainly other companies dealing with these compromised accounts.Heading a network of at least 40 individuals across Nigeria,Malaysia and South Africa which both provided malware and carried out the frauds,the alleged mastermind also had money laundering contacts in China,Europe and the US who provided bank account details for the illicit cash flow.
