EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

                                   The Nigerian military has announced a reprieve for 66 soldiers who had been sentenced to death for refusing to fight Islamist militia group Boko Haram.The soldiers who were sentenced to death by firing squad will now each serve 10 years in prison.They had been convicted by court martial over their refusal to drive down a road at night after dozens of colleagues died in a Boko Haram ambush.The sentence was altered following a review of court martials.The review was ordered by General Tukurs Buratai,the country's army chief of staff.Around 600 other cases are also being considered.

BAYELSA STATE GOVERNOR ''DICKSON'',HIS YOUNGER SISTER WAS KIDNAPPED YESTERDAY IN YENOGOA.

                                                               Yesterday saturday a witness said 26 year old Nancy Keme Dickson,who is the younger sister to the Bayelsa state governor,Governor Henry Dickson was kidnapped at her shop on Okaka road,Yenagoa,the state capital at about 2:50pm by the abductors who drove a Lexus SUV.The belief was that the abductors may have carried out surveillance on her movements before they struck.The Police Public Relations Officer {PPRO},Asinim Butswat,confirmed the abduction of Nancy by saying in a statement that  ''On the 19 December,2015 at about 1450hrs,four unknown gunmen in an ash coloured Lexus Jeep,trailed one Nancy Keme Dicknson,26 yrs to her shop at Okaka road,Yenagoa,and abducted her and her sales girl to an unknown destination.The Command immediately embarked on a Stop and Serch/Cordon Operations in a bid to rescue the victims and aprehend the perpetrators.Efforts have been intensified to arrest the abductors.Investigation is ongoing

AERO PLANE THAT LANDED IN BAUCHI,USE LADDER TO DISEMBARK THEIR PASSENGERS YESTERDAY.{PHOTOS}.

                                               Yesterday saturday,it was learnt that  Aero aircraft that took off from Abuja and landed in Bauchi Airport had problems with unserviceable equipment by the airport management in disembarking about 34 from the airport.The use of ladder to disembark passengers is against the standard aviation practice as prescribed by the International Civil Aviation Organisation {ICAO} on passengers facilitation.According to the airline,at the time the 34 passengers were boarding the chartered flight at Abuja Airport,the air stairs was functional.The airline confirmed the incident in a statement by SY & T,Media consultant to the Aero Contractors,it explained ''A special charter flight operated by Aero to Bauchi had problems with unserviceable equipment by the airport management in disembarking about 34 passengers from Abuja.Consequently against the airline's,the passengers used a ladder to disembark.Aero wishes to state that it took adequate
