   3rd November 2018 Gov. Simon Lalong has awarded scholarship to all Plateau indigenes that graduated with first class honours degrees. Lalong announced this on Saturday at the inauguration of e-library/ICT Centre built by Gindiri Old Students Association (GOSA). The governor said that the first class graduates would be given scholarship to study up to PhD level. “I have asked the deputy governor to work the modalities and soon it will commence,’’ he said. Lalong also announced that the state government would pay grants owed voluntary agency schools in the state. He said that globally, education is the bedrock of any society and that was why his administration on assumption of office deliberately placed education on the front burner. “It is in line with this commitment that I have already directed the resuscitation of grants to all voluntary agency schools in the state which seized to be released for the past 16 years. “All the accumulated amount will soon be cleared in...

      Benue State Acting Governor, Engr Benson Abounu has ordered full investigations into the unexplained killing of five members of a family in Makurdi on Friday night. Engr. Abounu who described as horrific the killing of Mr Nicholas Adetsav, a staff of Makurdi local government council and his entire family, said the suggestion t hat the late wife carried out the killings before taking her own life is mind-boggling and needs to be properly investigated.He has consequently instructed the Commissioner of Police to delve into the matter and carry out full investigation with the aim of unraveling what actually took place.Engr Abounu is very saddened by the events of Friday night and the loss of five precious lives. He condemns the killings, describing it as a sin against God and humanity.      The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall yesterday arrived in Ghana for Day 3 of the West Africa tour.   🇬🇭 The Prince and The Duchess attended a Welcome Ceremony at Jubilee House where they met The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo.  Their Royal Highnesses visited the Commonwealth War Graves and were joined by The Earl of Wessex who is visiting Ghana as part of the Duke of Edinburgh International Awar d. Wreaths were laid by Their Royal Highnesses, The President and The First Lady.
