 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. Anambra People See Us As Killers- Miyetti Allah The South-East leader of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria and Sarkin Fulani, Anambra State, Alhaji Gidado Siddiki, has declared that the Indigenes of Anambra State no longer trust Cattle Breeders living among them. According to him, he said that due to the criminals that are killing people posing as Herdsmen, some of the Indigenes of the State no longer trust them, adding that this was not the case 30 years ago. While addressing the issue of open grazing in the State, Alhaji Gidado Siddiki revealed that they had already appealed to Governor Soludo to reverse his plan on banning open grazing in Anambra State. He said that the Governor had announced that the law which would stop open grazing by Herders would be effective by the end of September but they are hoping that the Governor would listen to their appeal because they are also law-abiding citizens of the state. Groups Mobilise For Inter Religious Harmony In Kaduna The Peace Journalism Network in collaboration with Inter-faith Mediation Centre (IMC) and Mercy Corps has sensitised over 100,000 residents of Kaduna State on the need to strengthen Muslim-Christian relationship in the state. A statement signed by the team leader of the group, Ibrahima Yakubu, said their sole aim was to boost inter-religious relationship across the 19 northern states. According to the statement, the group has concluded plans take peace campaigns to schools, communities, markets and sports centers. “We are also going to use Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other social media platforms to educate the youth on promoting peaceful coexistence and religious tolerance among different faith based organisations,” the team leader said. Insecurity: Students In Kaduna Decline To Return To School Over Fear Of Bandits Some primary and secondary school students in Kaduna State, have refused to return to school for the new academic session over the fear of attack by bandits. The Kaduna State Government had announced September 4, 2022, as the date for the reopening of all schools across the state for the new session, however, two weeks after school resumption, some students are yet to return to class following the activities of criminals elements in the state. Although the government had assured students of safety, some parents are afraid of allowing their children go back to school as there are no concrete arrangements for security in some schools. The incident occurred at an Assemblies of God Church (Garkawa Section) in Shikal Community of Langtang south Local Government Area of Plateau State. Anambra Bans Wearing of Miniskirts in Secondary Schools As schools in Anambra state are set to reopen for the 2022/2023 academic section, the government of Anambra state has banned the wearing of mini-length uniforms in schools. The commissioner of Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma Udeh announced this during an interactive meeting with Education Secretaries of public and mission schools held at ASUBEB hall, Awka, Anambra State. According to the post which was shared on the Anambra state ministry of Education’s Facebook page, the Commissioner condemned the growing trend of putting on mini-length uniforms in schools, saying it goes against the acceptable dress code for schools in the state and the country at large. According to the Commissioner, a student should look smart, well groomed, project positive vibes and not be indecently dressed for school. Man Stabbed by Wife’s Lesbian Partner Buried in Onitsha A man identified as Ikechukwu, popularly known as Ayaaya, who was reportedly killed by a lady suspected to be the lesbian partner of his wife, has been buried in Onitsha, ANAMBRA PEOPLE reports. The news of the death of Ikechukwu broke in early August, as he was said to have been stabbed to death by his wife’s lesbian partner, after he allegedly caught both of them in bed in his house. Another version of the story also had it that the deceased had stopped the relationship between his wife and her lesbian partner, a development that irked the partner, causing her to always torment the family. Chinese man arrested for alleged murder of Nigerian lover The Kano State Police Command yesterday confirmed the alleged murder of one Miss Ummukulthum Sani of Janbulo Quarters in Kano by one Mr Gheng Chu, a Chinese national based in the state. Addressing journalists at a press conference in Kano yesterday, the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Police Command, Abdullahi Haruna, said the command received a distress call at about 10 pm on Friday, following which the Commissioner of Police, Mr Lawal Abubakar, dispatched a team to the scene. The 22-year-old victim was said to be Chu's lover until she was murdered on Friday. Haruna said: “The 47- year-old Chinese visited the residence of his girlfriend, Miss Ummukulthum Sani (22) and they engaged in an argument before he allegedly stabbed her many times with a knife.” He explained that when the police team reached the scene of the incident, they rushed the victim to Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital in the city, where she was
