The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.        Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has signed the State’s N1.168 Trillion 2020 Budget into law. The Governor assented to the Appropriation Bill at a short ceremony held in Alausa on Tuesday, pledging that the State would be open and accountable in the implementation of the budget. At the budget-signing event attended by members of the Executive Council and House of Assembly, Sanwo-Olu described the ratified expenditure as a “New Year present” to all residents of the State, saying his administration’s efforts to deliver a ’Greater Lagos’ had gained additional momentum. LASG ANNOUNCES ROAD CLOSURE ALONG AGEGE MOTOR ROAD AXIS FOR RAILWAY MODERNISATION PROJECT.#PRESS RELEASE.

The Lagos State Government has announced that the Adejobi axis of Agege Motor Road will be closed on the 4th of January, 2020 from 6.00pm to 12.00pm the next day for activities related to the modernisation project of the Lagos-Ibadan section as well as its extension to Lagos Port/Apapa rail tracks at the Level Crossing. A statement issued by the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation app ealed to residents, especially motorists plying the corridor to bear the pains, noting that the project is aimed at achieving a seamless multi-modal transport system in the State. According to the statement, alternative routes have been provided for road users during the course of construction, including Ashade Underpass and Fagba Crossing, to ensure motorists reach their various destinations with ease. The release said the government is taking steps to create proper road infrastructure that will ultimately improve the traffic situation and facilitate the free flow of traffic within the State.

       Security strategies put in place by the Lagos State Government has yielded fruits with the reduction in the spate of crime in the State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu disclosed on Tuesday. Sanwo-Olu said some of the security challenges inherited by his administration at inception had been largely contained, but said his Government was not resting on its oars to keep the State safe for business and living. The Governor made the disclosure after the State’s final Security Council meeting in the year. After the meeting held behind closed doors in Alausa, Sanwo-Olu led members of the Council to brief the State House reporters about security actions to be taken by the Government in the coming New Year. Sanwo-Olu said incessant kidnapping was part of the security challenges facing the State when he took over the leadership in May 2019.
