SEC CHARGES KIM KARDASHIAN FOR UNLAWFULLY TOUTING CRYPTO ON HER INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT.(PHOTO).

The top U.S. financial regulator has charged celebrity Kim Kardashian for touting a cryptocurrency on her Instagram account without disclosing that she was paid for the promotion. The Securities and Exchange Commission said Monday Kardashian has agreed to pay a fine of $1 million, although she did not admit or deny the S.E.C.'s findings. She will also give back $260,000, which includes her payment from the company with interest. "Ms. Kardashian's case also serves as a reminder to celebrities and others that the law requires them to disclose to the public when and how much they are paid to promote investing in securities," said SEC chair Gary Gensler. Kardashian, who has around 330 million Instagram followers, was paid $250,000 to promote cryptocurrency offered by EthereumMax called EMAX tokens. According to regulators, her post also "provided instructions for potential investors to purchase EMAX tokens." And that violates an "anti-touting provision"

QUEEN OF DENMARK DEFENDS STRIPPING ROYAL TITLES OF HER GRANDCHILDREN. (PHOTOS).

Image
A move towards a more "streamlined" monarchy. Queen Margrethe of Denmark has stripped her grandchildren who are children of her second son, Joachim, of royal titles. They will now be called "Your Excellency" instead of "Your Royal Highness." Instead of being princes and princesses they are counts or countesses. They keep their place in the royal succession, though. She said this will allow them to have more normal lives instead of being dominated by roles in the monarchy. I assume it will also reduce the cost of the monarchy. They will have their own careers. I think Prince Christian, Crown Prince Frederick's son, is the only one who will be supported by the state.  (Oh, one little bit of trivia: kings of Denmark are always named either Christian or Frederick.) Only the first half of this video has narration. After that it is just pictures of the Danish royal family. Actually, I don't know if the title is correct. I don't think Joachim, picture

JOURNALIST ARRESTED, BY LAGOS POLICE FOR “MOVING AT NIGHT”.(PHOTOS).#PRESS RELEASE.

Image
JOURNALIST ARRESTED, TORTURED BY LAGOS POLICE FOR “MOVING AT NIGHT” I have just received a distress call from a journalist and broadcaster, Mr. Casmir Ozuruigbo. He told me that he was arrested and tortured at about 12am this morning by policemen in Lagos for “moving at night”. Casmir is a journalist and newscaster with Lagos Television. He is presently being detained at Akinpelu Police Station, Bolade, Oshodi. He managed to call me moments ago before his phone was seized from him. Section 41 of the 1999 Constitution guarantees freedom of movement. I specifically asked him whether the policemen have disclosed his offense or the reason for his arrest and detention, he said they told him that he was arrested for “moving in the night”. The Constitution does not place a time limit on the right to freedom of movement. It is provocative that despite all the talks about police reform, we are still witnessing this level of abuse of police power and disdain for the fundamental rights of citizen
