 TCIPC Customs, NNS Beecroft Reaffirm Commitment to National Security, Trade Facilitation The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Tincan Island Port Command (TCIPC), and the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS), Beecroft, have renewed their commitment to securing Nigeria’s maritime borders and facilitating smooth trade operations.  This was highlighted during a visit on Thursday, 27 March 2025, by the newly appointed Commander of NNS Beecroft, Commodore Paul Nimmyel, to the Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Frank Onyeka at the TCIPC headquarters. While welcoming the Navy Commander, Comptroller Onyeka emphasised the importance of inter-agency collaboration in ensuring national security does not take a backseat to trade facilitation. GOODLUCK SEEKS TO EXTEND EMERGENCY LAW IN 3 STATES.

         Today tuesday,President Goodluck Jonathan asked the parliament for a six month extension of a state of emergency in three northen eastern states due to persistent attacks by boko haram.A state of emergency was declared in Adamawa,Borno and Yobe states in May last year and extended in November.President Goodluck Jonathan says ''The security situation in the three states remains daunting albeit to varying degress,in the face of persistent attacks by members of the boko haram sects on civilian and military targets with alarming casualty rates''.

LASTMA OFFICIAL,SACKED OVER BRIBE.

        34 year old Mr Saliu,a LASTMA {Lagos State Transport Management Authority},has been dismissed and arraigned before a Lagos court for allegedly receiving N1,000 bribe from a motorist.In the Magistrate court,he was charged with conspiracy,impersonation and extorting money from motorists.He was sacked after several reports of his illegal collection of bribes from motorists.He was sacked after several reports of his illegal collection of bribes from motorists.After he was sacked,Matiu continued extorting money from motorists illegally.It was the case of a motorist Muritala Hakeem that exposed him after he collected N1,000 from him for committing an undisclosed traffic offence.He was arrested while wearing the LASTMA uniform.His matter was adjourned to July 16 2014.He is still in Kirikiri prison because he could not meet up with his N100,000 bail.
