 Fuel scarcity bites harder in Abuja, Ondo, Osun, others • Independent marketers sell PMS between N625 and N799 per litre There is no succour yet for motorists and other petrol end users despite the Thursday statement by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) that it had resolved the logistic problems that sparked the supply crisis. Reports from across the country yesterday showed that many filling stations had no fuel to sell. Some sold over and above the threshold of N650 per litre while motorists and other buyers besieged the few ones that sold within the range of N600 per litre. While many petrol stations in Lagos sold fuel at the normal price and queues were not noticeable, it was a different story in the industrial town of Ota, Ogun State where some filling stations hiked their pump price to N799 per litre.                      According to France's farming ministry,who confirmed today friday that there is an outbreak of severe bird flu on a duck farm in the south-west of France,were affected.Another outbreak was detected among wild bird in northern France earlier this week.France,which has the largest poultry flock in the EU,is still recovering from a severe bird flu epidemic in south-western France earlier this year,which lead to a total halting of duck and geese output in the region and import restrictions from trading partners.There have been other recent bird flu outbreaks in the Netherlands,Germany and Switzerland.The H5N8 virus has never been detected in humans but it led to the culling of millions of farm birds in Asia,mainly South Korea,in 2014 before spreading to Europe.

EFCC ARRESTS ILLEGAL OIL VESSEL AT THE POINT OF FUEL DISCHARGE YESTERDAY,IN PORT-HARCOURT.{PHOTOS}.

                  Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,have arrested an oil vessel off-loading products suspected to be Automated Gas Oil,AGO,along Eagle Island in Port Harcourt,Rivers State.The arrest,made yesterday thursday December 1,was made possible by high-level intelligence and surveillance by the EFCC.Men and officers of the NNS Pathfinder,Naval Base,Port Harcourt also offered professional support and facilitation of the operation.The vessel: H.W. BECHMAN,an oil tanker,with Registration Number:4014030,was caught off-loading products into a Tank Farm housed in the premises of NEPAS Limited in the Iwofe area of Port Harcourt.It was the first-ever oil vessel interception made by the EFCC since its reception.Preliminary investigations by the EFCC showed that the oil vessel carried products loaded in twelve {12} compartments.Seven of the compartments had already been offloaded into the Tank Farm at the point of arrest.Products were still found in five othe

                              According to sources,the embattled spiritual leader Shiites sec,Ibrahim El-Zakzaky,who has been in detention with his wife Zeatudden,have been ordered to be released by the Federal High Court,Abuja.The court presided over by Justice Gabriel Kolawole,ordered the government to free the duo unconditionally within 45 days.They have been in custody for one year following their arrest after El-Zakzaky followers  clashed with the military in Zaria,north central Kaduna state,causing the death of more than 300 Shiites.The court also ordered the Federal Government to provide a new accommodation for El-Zakzaky in Zaria or any northern town of his choice.The court also awarded El-Zakzaky and his wife N50 million as general damages.The court made the order while delivering judgement on a fundamental right enforcement suit El-Zakzaky filed against the government.The court dismissed government's position that the applicant and his wife were under ''protective
