 Allow court decide Bello’s fate, media office tells EFCC The media office of the former Kogi Governor, Yahaya Bello, has said the court was yet to prove the allegations made against the embattled former governor by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. This was disclosed in a statement signed by Bello’s media office director, Ohiare Michael, on Friday, adding that the former governor did not pay the fees of his children with monies from the coffers of the Kogi State Government. On Tuesday, the Chairman of the EFCC at a press conference, alleged that Bello withdrew $720,000 from a government account to pay his children’s school fees in advance. Following the press conferences receipts of payments of the said fees bearing the names of Bello’s children and those of other family members, who separately paid their fees, have gone viral on social media. Court Releases Broda Mike Detained DSS Over Comedy Skits The Edo State High Court sitting in Benin, the state capital has granted bail to the comedian and vlogger, Chukwu Michael Emeka, arrested by Nigeria’s secret police, Department of State Services (DSS). His lawyer, Matthew Osa-Oghogho, confirmed that the comedian, popularly known as Broda Mike, had been released in a post on his Facebook page on Tuesday, saying, “Today, the High Court of justice sitting in Benin released Comedian Emeka Chukwu Aka #BrotherMike to bail. He was arrested by the Department of State Services and accused of inciting the Public. "The court agreed with our submission that the application for the remand of Mr. Chukwu is unmeritorious and therefore admitted him to bail. Security Guard Arrested In Lagos For Impregnating Employer’s Teenage Daughter  A 20-year-old security guard, Samuel Maikasuw, has been arrested by operatives of the Ikorodu division of the Lagos State Police Command over alleged molestation and impregnation of his employer’s teenage daughter. Maikasuw allegedly impregnated the 15-year-old daughter of his employer, according to a civil society organisation which is familiar with the case, the Advocates for Children and Vulnerable Peoples Network. The accused served as a gatekeeper at the house of one Fadiji who was a “surrogate parent” to the 15-year-old victim. Maikasuw was said to have been caught in a compromising position with the minor last year but was warned against repeating such. POLICE ARREST TWO SUSPECTED TRAFFIC ROBBERS AT GBAGADA Officers of Ifako division of the Lagos State Police Command, have arrested one Alaba Ibrahim ‘m’ aged 35 and Hammed Ibrahim ‘m’ aged 39 along Gbagada road.  The suspects were arrested by policemen on routine patrol following credible information received about the presence of suspicious persons on Deeper Life Bible Church Bridge Gbagada. A third suspect, took to his heels upon sighting the policemen. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects have been operating at that spot during traffic grid lock, distracting motorists and subsequently carting away their phones and other belongings. The suspects are currently assisting the police in an ongoing investigation to arrest the third suspect and other members of their gang.  Suspects would be arraigned contingent on the outcome of investigation.
